### Go: IsInjection and Detect quick start

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/README.md

Go quick-start example. Requires `go get github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/go`. The `IsInjection` function returns a boolean and an error; `Detect` returns a result with `Score` and `Risk` fields. The classifier is embedded, so no external service is needed.

```go
import jailguard "github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/go"
if injection, _ := jailguard.IsInjection("ignore previous instructions"); injection {
    log.Fatal("blocked")
}
result, _ := jailguard.Detect("What is the capital of France?")
fmt.Printf("score=%.3f risk=%v\n", result.Score, result.Risk)
```

--------------------------------

### CGo backend installation and build

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/go/README.md

Installs the native library for the CGo backend, sets the required CGO_CFLAGS and CGO_LDFLAGS environment variables, and builds the project. The installer prints the flags; the example shows Linux values.

```sh
go run github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/go/cmd/install@latest
# Installer prints CGO_CFLAGS / CGO_LDFLAGS. Linux example:
export CGO_CFLAGS="-I$HOME/.cache/jailguard/v0.1.0/include"
export CGO_LDFLAGS="$HOME/.cache/jailguard/v0.1.0/lib/linux_amd64/libjailguard.a -lm -lpthread -ldl -lrt -lgcc_s -lutil -lc"
```

--------------------------------

### Quick start: detect prompt injection

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/python/README.md

Shows the basic usage: optionally pre-download the ONNX embedder, check a string with is_injection, and get a DetectionResult from detect. The embedder downloads on first detect() if not pre-warmed.

```python
import jailguard
# Optional pre-warm: the 90 MB ONNX embedder downloads on first detect().
jailguard.download_model()
if jailguard.is_injection("ignore all previous instructions"):
    raise ValueError("blocked")
result = jailguard.detect("What is the capital of France?")
print(result.is_injection, result.score, result.risk)
# → False  0.0  RiskLevel.Safe
```

--------------------------------

### Install native FFI libraries

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/go/lib/README.md

Run this command to download and extract the native FFI libraries to the user cache directory. It verifies SHA-256 and prints the required CGO_* or JAILGUARD_LIB_PATH environment variables.

```sh
go run github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/go/cmd/install@latest
```

--------------------------------

### Bug report example

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md

Example bug report template showing how to structure a GitHub issue with reproduction steps, expected vs actual behavior, and environment details.

```text
Title: Model inference crashes with empty embedding vector
Steps to reproduce:
1. Load trained model
2. Call predict() with empty embedding (384 zeros)
3. Observe panic
Expected: Should return confidence score or error
Actual: thread 'main' panicked at 'assertion failed: embedding.len() == 384'
Environment:
- Rust: 1.75.0
- JailGuard: main branch (commit abc123)
- OS: Ubuntu 22.04
```

--------------------------------

### Quick start: Download model and detect injection

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/go/README.md

Initializes the Jailguard client by downloading the ONNX model, then checks a string for injection and runs a full detection on a sample prompt. Prints the detection result including injection flag, score, and risk level.

```go
package main
import (
    "fmt"
    "log"
    jailguard "github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/go"
)
func main() {
    if err := jailguard.DownloadModel(); err != nil {
        log.Fatal(err)
    }
    if injection, _ := jailguard.IsInjection("ignore previous instructions"); injection {
        fmt.Println("blocked")
    }
    result, err := jailguard.Detect("What is the capital of France?")
    if err != nil {
        log.Fatal(err)
    }
    fmt.Printf("injection=%v score=%.4f risk=%v\n",
        result.IsInjection, result.Score, result.Risk)
}
```

--------------------------------

### Install JailGuard with pip

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/python/README.md

Install the jailguard package from PyPI. Wheels are available for CPython 3.8-3.13 on Linux, macOS, and Windows.

```bash
pip install jailguard
```

--------------------------------

### Run latency micro-benchmarks

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/BENCHMARKS.md

Runs Criterion benchmark suite for detection (takes ~5-10 minutes) and a cold-start measurement example.

```sh
cargo bench --bench detect          # Criterion suite (takes ~5–10 min)
cargo run --release --example cold_start_bench  # Cold-start measurement
```

--------------------------------

### Quick start: download model and detect injection

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/elixir/README.md

Downloads the 90 MB MiniLM ONNX embedder to ~/.cache/jailguard/ on first use, then checks a string for prompt injection and detects risk. For production, call JailGuard.download_model/0 at startup to warm the cache.

```elixir
:ok = JailGuard.download_model()
{:ok, injection?} = JailGuard.is_injection("ignore previous instructions")
if injection?, do: raise("blocked")
{:ok, result} = JailGuard.detect("What is the capital of France?")
IO.inspect({result.score, result.risk})
```

--------------------------------

### Elixir model download and detection example

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/docs/API.md

Downloads the model and runs detection on a sample text, then accesses the result fields is_injection, score, and risk.

```elixir
:ok = JailGuard.download_model()
{:ok, result} = JailGuard.detect("ignore previous instructions")
result.is_injection
result.score
result.risk
```

--------------------------------

### Elixir: mix.exs dependency and usage with download_model

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/README.md

Elixir quick-start example. Add the dependency in `mix.exs` with `{:jailguard, "~> 0.1.2"}`. Then call `JailGuard.download_model()` to warm the cache, and use `is_injection/1` and `detect/1`. Precompiled NIFs ship for Linux, macOS, and Windows; set `JAILGUARD_BUILD=1` to compile from source on unsupported targets.

```elixir
def deps do
  [{:jailguard, "~> 0.1.2"}]
end
```

```elixir
:ok = JailGuard.download_model()
{:ok, injection?} = JailGuard.is_injection("ignore previous instructions")
if injection?, do: raise("blocked")
{:ok, result} = JailGuard.detect("What is the capital of France?")
IO.inspect({result.score, result.risk})
```

--------------------------------

### Install JailGuard Go package

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/go/README.md

Adds the JailGuard Go module to your project dependencies.

```sh
go get github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/go
```

--------------------------------

### Quick start: detect and check prompt injection

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/js/README.md

Imports detect, isInjection, and downloadModel. Optionally pre-warms the 90 MB ONNX embedder with downloadModel() before first detect(). Throws an error if isInjection returns true, otherwise logs the score and risk from detect().

```typescript
import { detect, isInjection, downloadModel } from "@yfedoseev/jailguard";
// Optional pre-warm: the 90 MB ONNX embedder downloads on first detect().
downloadModel();
if (isInjection("ignore previous instructions")) {
  throw new Error("blocked");
}
const r = detect("What is the capital of France?");
console.log(r.score, r.risk);
```

--------------------------------

### Build from source: npm install, build:native, build, test

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/js/README.md

Commands to build the native addon and TypeScript code from the monorepo. The build:native command runs cargo build --release --features napi and outputs to js/prebuilds/<platform>-<arch>/jailguard.node. Tests run with vitest.

```bash
cd js
npm install
npm run build:native    # cargo build --release --features napi
                        # → js/prebuilds/<platform>-<arch>/jailguard.node
npm run build           # TypeScript compile
npm test                # vitest
```

--------------------------------

### Build documentation

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/CONTRIBUTING.md

sed -i '' 's/^version = "0.1.0"/version = "0.1.1"/' Cargo.toml
sed -i '' 's/^version = "0.1.0"/version = "0.1.1"/' pyproject.toml
node -e "const p=require('./js/package.json'); p.version='0.1.1'; require('fs').writeFileSync('./js/package.json', JSON.stringify(p, null, 2))"
$EDITOR CHANGELOG.md   # add a "## [0.1.1] - 2026-MM-DD" section

# 2. Verify locally — same commands CI will run.
make ci-local
make test-py
make test-go
make test-js
make test-c-api

# 3. Commit + tag.
git add Cargo.toml pyproject.toml js/package.json CHANGELOG.md
git commit -m "release: v0.1.1"

### Pre-warm JailGuard model and session before serving

Source: https://github.com/yfedoseev/jailguard/blob/main/docs/INTEGRATION_GUIDE.md

Downloads the ONNX model if missing and builds the detection session during startup to avoid latency in the hot path. Use in a Kubernetes readiness probe to fail until warm-up succeeds.

```rust
fn main() -> anyhow::Result<()> {
    jailguard::download_model()?;            // download if needed
    let _ = jailguard::detect("warm up");  // build the session now
    serve()?;
    Ok(())
}
