### Install and Build the CLI

Source: https://github.com/yeaight7/agent-powerups/blob/main/docs/installation.md

Install the CLI from a source checkout, build it, and link it globally. This is the initial setup step for using the Agent Powerups CLI.

```powershell
npm install
npm run build
npm link
```

--------------------------------

### Cycle 3: Check Conventions and Setup

Source: https://github.com/yeaight7/agent-powerups/blob/main/plugins/documentation-systems/skills/context-retrieval-loop/SKILL.md

List files in documentation and configuration directories using 'ls', and display the beginning of convention files like AGENTS.md and CLAUDE.md using 'cat'. This helps identify style guides or contribution requirements.

```bash
ls docs/ .github/ 2>/dev/null
```

```bash
cat AGENTS.md CLAUDE.md 2>/dev/null | head -40
```

--------------------------------

### Show Per-File Paths for Install

View detailed per-file installation paths for an agent. Use the --verbose flag to get more granular information during installation.

```powershell
apx install codex --verbose
```

--------------------------------

### Install Plugin Bundles

Source: https://context7.com/yeaight7/agent-powerups/llms.txt

Install plugin bundles for specific targets. Use `--dry-run` to preview the installation without applying changes, and `--yes` to apply the installation directly.

```sh
# Dry-run install a specific bundle
apx plugins install dev-vitals --target codex --dry-run
apx plugins install quality-gates --target claude-code --dry-run
```

```sh
# Apply install
apx plugins install dev-vitals --target codex --yes
```

--------------------------------

Source: https://github.com/yeaight7/agent-powerups/blob/main/plugins/dev-vitals/skills/using-powerups/SKILL.md

Use `apx check` with flags to preview supported installers for missing commands or packages. Ask for confirmation before running the actual installation.

```sh
apx check <asset> --install-missing --dry-run
```

--------------------------------

### Perform Agent-Curated Setup with `apx setup`

Source: https://context7.com/yeaight7/agent-powerups/llms.txt

apx setup codex --mode minimal --yes

# Apply recommended (main agent setup)
apx setup codex --mode recommended --yes
apx setup claude-code --mode recommended --yes
apx setup gemini --mode recommended --yes

# Full (all skills, commands, plugin bundles, hooks, MCP configs staged)
apx setup codex --mode full --yes

# Use a custom agent root
apx setup codex --agent-root /tmp/codex-test --dry-run

# Use a specific instruction file
apx setup codex --instructions-file ~/AGENTS.md --yes
```
--------------------------------
