### BidderTokenRequest factory methods (SDK 7 vs SDK 8)

Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/05_loaders.md

Compares the old BidderTokenRequestConfiguration initializer with mutable properties to the new factory methods on BidderTokenRequest. Shows the banner example with size, targeting, and parameters, and then the other ad types with all optional parameters.

```swift
// SDK 7
let config = BidderTokenRequestConfiguration(adType: .banner)
config.bannerAdSize = adSize
config.targetInfo = adTargetInfo
tokenLoader.loadBidderToken(requestConfiguration: config) { token in ... }
// SDK 8
let targeting = AdTargeting()
let request = BidderTokenRequest.banner(
    size: adSize,
    targeting: targeting,
    parameters: ["key": "value"]
)
tokenLoader.loadBidderToken(request: request) { token in ... }
// SDK 8 — other ad types (all parameters are optional)
let request = BidderTokenRequest.interstitial()
let request = BidderTokenRequest.rewarded()
let request = BidderTokenRequest.native()
let request = BidderTokenRequest.appOpenAd()
```

### Load images with completion handler or async

Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/08_native.md

In SDK 8, loadImages() is renamed to loadImages(completionHandler:) and the NativeAdImageLoadingObserver protocol is removed. Use the completion handler or async/await version. The example shows both SDK 7 and SDK 8 for NativeAd and SliderAd.

```swift
// SDK 7 — NativeAd
nativeAd.addImageLoadingObserver(self)
nativeAd.loadImages()
// SDK 8 — NativeAd (completion handler)
nativeAd.loadImages(completionHandler: { [weak self] in
    // images loaded
})
// SDK 8 — NativeAd (async/await)
await nativeAd.loadImages()
// SDK 7 — SliderAd
sliderAd.addImageLoadingObserver(self)
sliderAd.loadImages()
// SDK 8 — SliderAd (completion handler)
sliderAd.loadImages(completionHandler: { [weak self] in
    // images loaded
})
// SDK 8 — SliderAd (async/await)
await sliderAd.loadImages()
```

### Rating protocol implementation migration (SDK 7 to SDK 8)

Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/08_native.md

Shows the change from method-based Rating protocol (setRating(_:) and rating()) to a property-based implementation (var rating: NSNumber? { get set }). The SDK 8 version uses a computed property with get and set blocks.

```swift
// SDK 7 — Protocol implementation
extension StarRatingView: Rating {
    func setRating(_ rating: NSNumber?) {
        _rating = rating as? Int
        updateStarViews()
    }
    func rating() -> NSNumber? {
        guard let rating = _rating else { return nil }
        return NSNumber(value: rating)
    }
}
// SDK 8 — Protocol implementation
extension StarRatingView: Rating {
    var rating: NSNumber? {
        get {
            guard let rating = _rating else { return nil }
            return NSNumber(value: rating)
        }
        set {
            _rating = newValue as? Int
            updateStarViews()
        }
    }
}
```

### Access warning text via .value in SDK 8

Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/08_native.md

In SDK 8, the warning field is of type NativeAdWarning? instead of String?. Access the text through the .value property. The example shows both SDK 7 and SDK 8 usage.

```swift
// SDK 7
let warningText: String? = nativeAd.adAssets.warning
label.text = warningText
// SDK 8
let warning: NativeAdWarning? = nativeAd.adAssets.warning
label.text = warning?.value
```

--------------------------------

### Pattern 3: Migrating multiple properties

Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/04_adrequest.md

Shows the SDK 7 pattern of setting parameters, biddingData, and targeting after construction, and the SDK 8 equivalent that passes them all via the initializer.

```swift
// SDK 7
let request = MutableAdRequestConfiguration(adUnitID: "R-M-XXXXX-YY")
request.parameters = ["key": "value"]
request.biddingData = biddingData
let targeting = AdTargeting()
targeting.age = 25
request.targeting = targeting
```

```swift
// SDK 8
let targeting = AdTargeting(
    age: 25,
    gender: .male,
    location: location
)
let request = AdRequest(
    adUnitID: "R-M-XXXXX-YY",
    targeting: targeting,
    parameters: ["key": "value"],
    biddingData: biddingData
)
```

--------------------------------

### Verification: Find classes conforming to SDK delegates

Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/09_mainactor.md

Run this bash command to locate Swift files that conform to @MainActor-isolated protocols, excluding Pods, .build, and DerivedData directories. The output lists files that may need @MainActor annotations.

```bash
swift0() { find . -name "*.swift" -not -path "*/Pods/*" -not -path "*/.build/*" -not -path "*/DerivedData/*" -print0; }
# Find classes conforming to SDK delegates that may need @MainActor
swift0 | xargs -0 grep -sn "AppOpenAdDelegate\|InterstitialAdDelegate\|RewardedAdDelegate\|NativeAdDelegate\|SliderAdDelegate\|BannerAdViewDelegate"
```

--------------------------------

### Native ad loading with NativeAdOptions (SDK 8)

Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/05_loaders.md

Shows how to load a native ad in SDK 8 using the new NativeAdOptions parameter, which configures loading options including automatic image loading. Includes both the completion handler and async/await variants.

```swift
// SDK 8
let request = AdRequest(adUnitID: "R-M-XXXXX-YY")
let options = NativeAdOptions()
nativeAdLoader.loadAd(with: request, options: options) { result in
    switch result {
    case .success(let ad):
        // ad loaded
    case .failure(let error):
        // error
    }
}
// SDK 8 (async/await)
let ad = try await nativeAdLoader.loadAd(with: request, options: options)
```

### Run migration scripts from host app root

Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/SKILL.md

Run the migration shell scripts from the host app root (directory with Podfile or .xcodeproj). The MIGRATION_PACK variable points to the migration package; adjust it if your path differs. These commands apply mechanical renames, verify them, and run the final verification.

```bash
MIGRATION_PACK="../migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8"
# Step 3: Apply all mechanical renames
bash "$MIGRATION_PACK/scripts/apply_mechanical_renames.sh" .
# Step 3 verification: Check mechanical renames
bash "$MIGRATION_PACK/scripts/verify_mechanical_renames.sh" .
# Final verification: Check all migration patterns
bash "$MIGRATION_PACK/scripts/run_final_verification.sh" .
```

### Initialize Yandex Mobile Ads SDK manually

Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Examples/ThirdPartyMediationAdapterTemplate/README.md

Manually initialize the Yandex Mobile Ads SDK to speed up the first ad load. The method is safe and can be reinvoked if the SDK is already initialized.

```swift
let adapterIdentity = AdapterIdentity(
    adapterNetworkName: "MEDIATION_NETWORK_NAME",
    adapterVersion: "YANDEX_ADAPTER_VERSION",
    adapterNetworkVersion: "MEDIATION_NETWORK_SDK_VERSION"
)
YandexAds.setAdapterIdentity(adapterIdentity)
YandexAds.initializeSDK()
```

--------------------------------

### Verify no loader delegate patterns remain (bash)

Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/05_loaders.md

Shell commands to search for any remaining loader delegate conformances, assignments, or old delegate method implementations in Swift files, excluding Pods, .build, and DerivedData directories.

```bash
swift0() { find . -name "*.swift" -not -path "*/Pods/*" -not -path "*/.build/*" -not -path "*/DerivedData/*" -print0; }
```swift
// SDK 7
let request = MutableAdRequest()
request.adUnitID = "R-M-XXXXX-YY"
request.parameters = ["key": "value"]
bannerAdView.loadAd(with: request)
```
```swift
// SDK 8
let request = AdRequest(adUnitID: "R-M-XXXXX-YY", parameters: ["key": "value"])
bannerAdView.loadAd(with: request)
```
--------------------------------
--------------------------------
### Verification commands for banner migration
Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/06_banner.md
Bash commands to search for old class and delegate method names in Swift files, excluding Pods, .build, and DerivedData directories. The first command defines a helper function swift0.
```bash
swift0() { find . -name "*.swift" -not -path "*/Pods/*" -not -path "*/.build/*" -not -path "*/DerivedData/*" -print0; }

# Check for old class names (be careful: "AdView" may appear as part of "BannerAdView")
swift0 | xargs -0 grep -sn "\bAdView\b" | grep -v "BannerAdView" | grep -v "import"
swift0 | xargs -0 grep -sn "\bAdViewDelegate\b" | grep -v "BannerAdViewDelegate"
swift0 | xargs -0 grep -sn "adViewDidLoad\|adViewDidFailLoading\|adViewDidClick" | grep -v "bannerAdView"
swift0 | xargs -0 grep -sn "adViewWillLeaveApplication\|willPresentScreen\|didDismissScreen"
```
--------------------------------
### BidderTokenRequest.appOpenAd(targeting:parameters:)
Creates a bidder token request for app open ad type. All parameters are optional.
```APIDOC
## BidderTokenRequest.appOpenAd(targeting:parameters:)

### Description
Creates a bidder token request for app open ad type. All parameters are optional.

### Method
Factory method

### Endpoint
BidderTokenRequest.appOpenAd(targeting:parameters:)

### Parameters
#### Parameters
- **targeting** (AdTargeting) - Optional - Targeting information.
- **parameters** ([String: Any]) - Optional - Additional parameters.

### Request Example
```swift
let request = BidderTokenRequest.appOpenAd()
```
```
--------------------------------
### Verify dependency version with grep
Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/02_dependencies.md
Commands to verify the version in Podfile or Package.swift. The CocoaPods command greps the Podfile, and the SPM command greps Package.swift, suppressing errors.
```bash
# CocoaPods
grep -n "YandexMobileAds" Podfile

# SPM
grep -rn "YandexMobileAds" Package.swift 2>/dev/null
```
--------------------------------
### Set AdapterIdentity before SDK initialization (SDK 8)
Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/05_loaders.md
In SDK 8, replace the `mediationNetworkName` parameter in `BidderTokenLoader` with a global `AdapterIdentity` set via `YandexAds.setAdapterIdentity(_:)` before calling `YandexAds.initializeSDK`. The token loader is then created without parameters.
```swift
// SDK 7
let tokenLoader = BidderTokenLoader(mediationNetworkName: "AdMob")

// SDK 8
let adapterIdentity = AdapterIdentity(
    adapterNetworkName: "AdMob",
    adapterVersion: "1.0.0",
    adapterNetworkVersion: "23.5.0"
)
YandexAds.setAdapterIdentity(adapterIdentity)
YandexAds.initializeSDK(completionHandler: nil)

let tokenLoader = BidderTokenLoader()
```
--------------------------------
```
```
--------------------------------
### Search for old delegate method names
Source: https://github.com/yandexmobile/yandex-ads-sdk-ios/blob/master/Skills/migrate-yandex-ads-sdk-from-7-to-8/steps/07_ad_delegates.md
Defines a shell function to find Swift files excluding Pods, .build, and DerivedData, then greps for old delegate method names. Use to verify no old method names remain.
```bash
swift0() { find . -name "*.swift" -not -path "*/Pods/*" -not -path "*/.build/*" -not -path "*/DerivedData/*" -print0; }
swift0 | xargs -0 grep -sn "didFailToShowWithError\|didTrackImpressionWith[^a-zA-Z]"
swift0 | xargs -0 grep -sn "nativeAdWillLeaveApplication\|sliderAdWillLeaveApplication\|sliderAdDidClose\|viewControllerForPresentingModalView"
```
