    }
}

CACHES = {
    'default': {
        'BACKEND': 'django.core.cache.backends.redis.RedisCache',
        'LOCATION': 'redis://localhost:6379/0',
    }
}
```
--------------------------------
### Configure PostgreSQL and Redis Together
```python
# settings.py
TEST_RUNNER = 'django_testcontainers_plus.runner.TestcontainersRunner'

DATABASES = {
    'default': {
        'ENGINE': 'django.db.backends.postgresql',
        'NAME': 'test',
    }
}

CACHES = {
    'default': {
        'BACKEND': 'django.core.cache.backends.redis.RedisCache',
        'LOCATION': 'redis://localhost:6379/0',
    }
}

```
--------------------------------
### Explicitly enable or disable providers
Source: https://github.com/woodywoodster/django-testcontainers-plus/blob/main/docs/pages/user-guide/configuration.md
Force a provider to start or stop regardless of auto-detection logic.
```python
TESTCONTAINERS = {
    # Always start a postgres container, even if not in DATABASES
    'postgres': {
        'enabled': True,
    },
    # Never start a redis container
    'redis': {
        'enabled': False,
    },
}
```
--------------------------------
### Configure custom settings updates
Source: https://github.com/woodywoodster/django-testcontainers-plus/blob/main/docs/pages/providers/redis.md
Use the update_settings dictionary to manually control how settings are modified after the container starts.
```python
TESTCONTAINERS = {
    'redis': {
        'update_settings': {
            'CACHES': {
                'default': {
                    'BACKEND': 'django.core.cache.backends.redis.RedisCache',
                    'LOCATION': 'redis://localhost:6379/1',  # different DB
                }
            }
        }
    }
}
```
--------------------------------
### Disable auto-detection
Source: https://github.com/woodywoodster/django-testcontainers-plus/blob/main/docs/pages/user-guide/configuration.md
Prevent a provider from starting automatically by setting auto to False.
```python
TESTCONTAINERS = {
    'redis': {
        'auto': False,
    },
}
```
--------------------------------
### Configure Django Test Runner
Source: https://github.com/woodywoodster/django-testcontainers-plus/blob/main/docs/pages/getting-started/quickstart.md
Set the custom test runner in settings.py to enable automatic container management.
```python
TEST_RUNNER = 'django_testcontainers_plus.runner.TestcontainersRunner'
```
--------------------------------
### Perform type checking
Source: https://github.com/woodywoodster/django-testcontainers-plus/blob/main/docs/pages/help/contributing.md
Validates type annotations using mypy or the makefile.
```bash
uv run mypy src/
make typecheck
```
### Customize Redis container settings
Source: https://github.com/woodywoodster/django-testcontainers-plus/blob/main/docs/pages/providers/redis.md
Override default container image or environment variables via the TESTCONTAINERS dictionary.
```python
TESTCONTAINERS = {
    'redis': {
        'image': 'redis:7-alpine',
        'environment': {
            'REDIS_ARGS': '--maxmemory 256mb',
        },
    }
}
```
### Customize S3 container settings
Source: https://github.com/woodywoodster/django-testcontainers-plus/blob/main/docs/pages/providers/s3.md
Override default container configuration, including credentials and environment variables, via the TESTCONTAINERS dictionary.
```python
TESTCONTAINERS = {
    's3': {
        'image': 'rustfs/rustfs',
        'access_key': 'rustfsadmin',         # used for boto3 + container auth
        'secret_key': 'rustfsadmin',
        'bucket_name': 'test-bucket',        # auto-created bucket
        'environment': { # extra container env vars
            'RUSTFS_CONSOLE_ENABLE': 'true',
        },
    }
}
```
### Register pytest Plugin
Source: https://github.com/woodywoodster/django-testcontainers-plus/blob/main/docs/pages/getting-started/quickstart.md
Add the plugin to conftest.py to enable testcontainers support in pytest.
```python
pytest_plugins = ['django_testcontainers_plus.pytest_plugin']
```
--------------------------------
### Override database credentials
Source: https://github.com/woodywoodster/django-testcontainers-plus/blob/main/docs/pages/user-guide/configuration.md
Specify custom database credentials for the postgres provider.
```python
TESTCONTAINERS = {
    'postgres': {
        'username': 'myuser',
        'password': 'mypassword',
        'dbname':   'mydb',
    },
}
```
### Test Email Sending with Mailhog
Source: https://github.com/woodywoodster/django-testcontainers-plus/blob/main/README.md
Use Mailhog to capture and verify outgoing emails via the injected MAILHOG_API_URL.
```python
# settings.py
TEST_RUNNER = 'django_testcontainers_plus.runner.TestcontainersRunner'

EMAIL_BACKEND = 'django.core.mail.backends.smtp.EmailBackend'
EMAIL_HOST = 'localhost'
EMAIL_PORT = 1025
```
```python
# tests.py
from django.core.mail import send_mail
from django.conf import settings
import requests

def test_email_sending():
    # Mailhog container is automatically started
    send_mail(
        'Test Subject',
        'Test message body',
        'from@example.com',
        ['to@example.com'],
        fail_silently=False,
    )

    # Retrieve sent emails via Mailhog API using MAILHOG_API_URL
    response = requests.get(f'{settings.MAILHOG_API_URL}/messages')
    messages = response.json()['items']

    assert len(messages) == 1
    assert messages[0]['Content']['Headers']['Subject'][0] == 'Test Subject'

def test_clear_mailbox():
    # Delete all messages before test
    requests.delete(f'{settings.MAILHOG_API_URL}/messages')

    # ... send emails and verify
```
### Disable service auto-detection
Source: https://github.com/woodywoodster/django-testcontainers-plus/blob/main/README.md
Configure the TESTCONTAINERS dictionary to explicitly disable auto-detection for specific services.
```python
TESTCONTAINERS = {
    'mysql': {
        'auto': False,  # Won't auto-detect MySQL
        'enabled': False,  # Explicitly disable
    }
}
