Run the service directly to verify operation. Replace device_ip_address with the actual gateway IP.

```bash
PYTHONPATH=/usr/share/weewx:/etc/weewx/bin python3 \
/etc/weewx/bin/user/gw1000.py --test-service \
--ip-address=device_ip_address
```

```bash
source ~/weewx-venv/bin/activate
PYTHONPATH=~/weewx-data/bin python3 ~/weewx-data/bin/user/gw1000.py \
--test-service --ip-address=device_ip_address
```

```bash
source ~/weewx-venv/bin/activate
PYTHONPATH=~/weewx/src:~/weewx-data/bin python3 \
