```
--------------------------------
### tnr scp upload and download examples
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/file-transfers
Examples showing upload (local to remote) and download (remote to local) using instance_id: prefix. Directories are transferred recursively; SSH keys and ~/ expansion are handled automatically.
```bash
# Upload: local → remote
tnr scp ./data.csv 0:/home/user/

# Download: remote → local
tnr scp 0:/home/user/results.csv ./

```
--------------------------------
### Install Thunder Compute CLI on Linux
```text
https://abc123-8080.thundercompute.net

```
--------------------------------
### tnr modify examples
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/modifying-instances
Examples of using tnr modify to switch GPU type, scale up vCPUs, increase disk size, and move to 4 GPUs. Note that disk size can only be increased, not decreased.
```bash
# Switch to a different GPU
tnr modify 0 --gpu a100

# Scale up CPUs
tnr modify 0 --vcpus 16

# Increase disk size
tnr modify 0 --disk 300

# Move to 4 GPUs
tnr modify 0 --num-gpus 4

```
--------------------------------
### Connect interactively with tnr connect
```bash
tnr connect
```
--------------------------------
### Authenticate CLI with tnr login
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/authentication
Run `tnr login` to start authentication. Your browser opens automatically for OAuth; press `T` during login to enter a token from the console instead.
```bash
tnr login

```
--------------------------------
### Forward ports with flags
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/port-forwarding
Commands to add or remove ports using flags. Includes examples for single, multiple, removal, and combined add/remove.
```bash
# Forward a single port
tnr ports forward <instance_id> --add 8080

# Forward multiple ports
tnr ports forward <instance_id> --add 8080,3000,5000

# Remove a forwarded port
tnr ports forward <instance_id> --remove 8080

# Add and remove in one command
tnr ports forward <instance_id> --add 3000 --remove 8080

```
--------------------------------
### Disable auto-refresh with tnr status --no-wait
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/monitoring-instances
Use the `--no-wait` flag to get a single snapshot of instance status instead of monitoring for changes.
```bash
tnr status --no-wait

```
--------------------------------
### Create, check, and connect to an instance
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/quickstart
Basic workflow for using Thunder Compute: create an instance, check its status, and connect to a running instance.
```bash
# Create an instance
tnr create

# Check on your instance
tnr status

# Connect to a running instance
tnr connect 0
```
--------------------------------
### Create a snapshot interactively
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/snapshots
Run the interactive menu to create a snapshot. The CLI prompts for instance and name.
```bash
tnr snapshot create

```
--------------------------------
### One-line creation with tnr create flags
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/creating-instances
Specify all options in a single command using flags for GPU, number of GPUs, vCPUs, template, and disk size.
```bash
tnr create --gpu a6000 --num-gpus 1 --vcpus 8 --template base --disk 100

```
--------------------------------
### Create a snapshot with instance ID and name
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/snapshots
Specify the instance ID and snapshot name directly. Snapshotting runs in the background, allowing continued use of the instance. Limited to 50 snapshots; instance must be in RUNNING state.
```bash
tnr snapshot create --instance-id 0 --name my-environment

```
--------------------------------
### Connect directly to an instance with tnr connect
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/connecting-to-instances
Connects directly to the instance with the given ID. Replace 0 with the ID from tnr status. The CLI sets up SSH access and opens a shell, showing a prompt like ubuntu@thunder-client:~$.
```bash
tnr connect 0
```
--------------------------------
### List snapshots
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/snapshots
View all snapshots with status, size, and creation date. Status values: READY, CREATING, FAILED.
```bash
tnr snapshot list

```
--------------------------------
### Restore from snapshot with tnr create
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/creating-instances
Snapshots appear alongside templates in the selection menu. Run `tnr create` and select your snapshot in the 'Templates' step to create an instance with your previously saved state.
```bash
tnr create
# Select your snapshot in the "Templates" step

```
--------------------------------
### List instances with tnr status
Source: https://www.thundercompute.com/docs/cli/operations/monitoring-instances
Run `tnr status` to display a table of all instances with details like Instance ID, Status, IP Address, GPU Type, GPU Count, vCPU Count, RAM, Disk, and Template. By default, it monitors for status changes.
```bash
tnr status

```
--------------------------------
