### Adjust Sparrow UI Scaling on Windows

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/faq

This snippet explains how to adjust the Sparrow Wallet's user interface scaling on Windows. It involves setting a specific environment variable to control the UI scale factor, with examples like `200%` for increased size. Further guidance is available via a provided link.

```powershell
Set the environment variable `glass.win.uiScale` to whatever percentage of scaling you require (e.g. `200%`).
```

### Run Sparrow in Testnet using Command Line Arguments

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/faq

Demonstrates how to launch Sparrow Wallet in testnet mode using command-line arguments specific to different operating systems. This allows for isolated testing without affecting the mainnet configuration.

```bash
> open /Applications/Sparrow.app --args -n testnet
```

```bash
> Sparrow/bin/Sparrow -n testnet
```

```powershell
> Sparrow.exe -n testnet
```

--------------------------------

### Specify Sparrow Home Folder using Command Line Argument

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/faq

Illustrates how to change the default storage location for Sparrow Wallet's configuration and wallet files using the `-d` command-line flag. This is useful for organizing data or using removable media.

```powershell
> Sparrow.exe -d D:\sparrow
```

--------------------------------

### Set Sparrow Network using Environment Variable

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/faq

Shows how to configure Sparrow Wallet to use a specific network (e.g., testnet) by setting an environment variable. This method serves as a fallback if command-line arguments are not used.

```bash
> export SPARROW_NETWORK=testnet
```

--------------------------------

### Sparrow Command Line Usage

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/faq

Lists the available command-line options for the Sparrow application, including flags for setting the data directory, showing help, adjusting log levels, specifying the network, enabling terminal mode, and displaying the version.

```text
Usage: Sparrow [options]
  Options:
    --dir, -d
      Path to Sparrow home folder
    --help, -h
      Show usage
    --level, -l
      Set log level
      Possible Values: [ERROR, WARN, INFO, DEBUG, TRACE]
    --network, -n
      Network to use
      Possible Values: [mainnet, testnet, regtest, signet]
    --terminal, -t
      Terminal mode
      Default: false
    --version, -v
      Show version
      Default: false
```

### Enable Transaction Index in Bitcoin Core

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/connect-node

Enabling the transaction index (`txindex=1`) provides additional features in Sparrow Wallet, such as the ability to look up transaction inputs, similar to using an Electrum server. This requires additional disk space. Add this to your `bitcoin.conf`.

```ini
txindex=1
```

--------------------------------

### Adjust Sparrow UI Scaling on Linux

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/faq

This snippet demonstrates how to adjust the Sparrow Wallet's user interface scaling on Linux systems with high-resolution displays. It involves setting specific environment variables to control the UI scale factor, which can also be configured globally in GNOME settings.

```shell
_JAVA_OPTIONS=-Dglass.gtk.uiScale=200% /opt/sparrowwallet/bin/Sparrow
```

```shell
gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.interface scaling-factor 2
```

--------------------------------

### Enable RPC Server in Bitcoin Core

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/connect-node

This configuration enables the RPC server in Bitcoin Core, allowing external applications like Sparrow Wallet to connect and interact with your node. Ensure this is present in your `bitcoin.conf` file.

```ini
server=1
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Pruned Node in Bitcoin Core

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/connect-node

This setting configures Bitcoin Core to run as a pruned node, reducing disk space usage by deleting old blocks. Specify the desired maximum disk space in megabytes (e.g., 1000MB for 1GB). Be aware that this limits the ability to scan transactions prior to the earliest retained block.

```ini
prune=1000
```

--------------------------------

### Enable Block Filter Index for Faster Rescans (Bitcoin Core v25+)

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/connect-node

For Bitcoin Core versions 25 and later, enabling the block filter index can significantly speed up rescanning operations within Sparrow Wallet. Add this to your `bitcoin.conf`.

```ini
blockfilterindex=1
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Remote Bitcoin Core Access

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/connect-node

These settings allow Sparrow Wallet to connect to a Bitcoin Core node running on a different machine. It includes setting up RPC credentials, binding to specific IP addresses, and allowing connections from your local network. Remember to replace `yourpassword` with a strong, unique password. If using testnet, change `[main]` to `[test]`.

```ini
rpcuser=bitcoin
rpcpassword=yourpassword
[main]
rpcbind=127.0.0.1
rpcbind=192.168.0.10
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.0.0/16
```

### Set Default Master Fingerprint for Watch-Only Wallets

Source: https://sparrowwallet.com/docs/faq

This code snippet illustrates the use of a default master fingerprint for watch-only wallets when only the xpub is known. It suggests using `00000000` as a safe default value and mentions that the derivation path can be set to the default for the script type if unknown.

00000000
