### Smartsheet Formula: Resource Allocation Calculation with SUMIFS

Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt

This formula calculates resource allocation by summing 'Allocation Percentage' for a specific resource ('Resource Name') within a given date range (between 'Project Start' and 'Project End'). It utilizes SUMIFS with date comparisons.

```smartsheet
=SUMIFS(
  {Allocation Percentage},
  {Resource Name}, [Resource]@row,
  {Project Start}, <=DATE(@cell),
  {Project End}, >=DATE(@cell)
)
```

--------------------------------

### Smartsheet Formula: Dynamic Date Calculations with WORKDAY

Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt

This formula calculates a date based on a start date and duration in days, excluding weekends and company holidays. It uses the WORKDAY function and includes an IFISBLANK check to return an empty string if the start date is missing.

```smartsheet
=IF(
  ISBLANK([Start Date]@row), "",
  WORKDAY([Start Date]@row, [Duration Days]@row, {Company Holidays})
)
```

--------------------------------

### Smartsheet Copy Row Workflow Example

Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt

Automates the copying of a row to an archive sheet when its 'Phase' column changes to 'Complete'. It includes options to copy attachments and then performs actions on the source row, such as locking it and notifying the project manager. This workflow aids in managing completed project data.

```json
{
  "trigger": {
    "type": "When rows are changed",
    "conditions": [
      {
        "column": "Phase",
        "operator": "changes to",
        "value": "Complete"
      }
    ]
  },
  "action": {
    "type": "Copy row",
    "destination": "Completed Projects Archive",
    "includeAttachments": true,
    "includeDiscussions": false,
    "then": [
      {
        "action": "Lock row",
        "sheet": "source"
      },
      {
        "action": "Send notification",
        "to": "{{Project Manager}}",
        "message": "Project archived successfully"
      }
    ]
  }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Smartsheet Alert Workflow Example

Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt

Defines an alert workflow that triggers when rows are added or changed, and a specific column value meets certain conditions. It then sends an alert to specified recipients with a customized subject and message. This workflow is useful for immediate notifications on critical changes.

```json
{
  "trigger": {
    "type": "When rows are added or changed",
    "conditions": [
      {
        "column": "Status",
        "operator": "changes to",
        "value": "At Risk"
      }
    ]
  },
  "action": {
    "type": "Send alert",
    "recipients": [
      "{{Project Manager}}",
      "director@company.com"
    ],
    "subject": "Project Alert: {{Project Name}}",
    "message": "The project {{Project Name}} has been marked as At Risk.\n\nDetails:\nOwner: {{Owner}}\nDue Date: {{Due Date}}\nReason: {{Notes}}",
    "includeLinks": true,
    "includeAttachments": false
  },
  "runWorkflow": "When triggered"
}
```

### Smartsheet Formula: Conditional Status with Nested IF and AND

Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt

This formula creates a conditional status indicator. It uses nested IF and AND functions to check multiple criteria such as completion percentage, end date relative to today, and start date, assigning status like 'Complete', 'Overdue', 'At Risk', 'Not Started', or 'On Track'.

```smartsheet
=IF(
  [% Complete]@row = 1, "Complete",
  IF(
    AND([End Date]@row < TODAY(), [% Complete]@row < 1), "Overdue",
    IF(
      AND([End Date]@row <= TODAY(7), [% Complete]@row < 1), "At Risk",
      IF([Start Date]@row > TODAY(), "Not Started", "On Track")
    )
  )
)
```

--------------------------------

### Smartsheet Approval Workflow Example

Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt

Configures an approval workflow triggered by new row additions from a specific form. It requests approval sequentially from defined approvers, with conditions for the final approver. Upon approval, it changes cell values, locks the row, and sends a notification. Rejection results in a status change.

```json
{
  "trigger": {
    "type": "When rows are added",
    "source": "New Project Request Form"
  },
  "action": {
    "type": "Request approval",
    "approvers": [
      {
        "role": "First Approver",
        "contact": "{{Department Head}}"
      },
      {
        "role": "Final Approver",
        "contact": "finance.director@company.com",
        "condition": "If Budget > $50000"
      }
    ],
    "approvalType": "Sequential",
    "message": "Please review and approve this project request:\n\n{{all column values}}",
    "onApproval": [
      {
        "action": "Change cell value",
        "column": "Status",
        "value": "Approved"
      },
      {
        "action": "Lock row",
        "lockType": "Lock entire row"
      },
      {
        "action": "Send notification",
        "to": "{{Submitter}}",
        "message": "Your project request has been approved!"
      }
    ],
    "onRejection": [
      {
        "action": "Change cell value",
        "column": "Status",
        "value": "Rejected"
      }
    ]
  }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Smartsheet Move Row Workflow Example

Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt

Moves a row to a different sheet when its 'Status' is 'Escalated' and 'Priority' is 'High' or 'Critical', with both conditions needing to be met (AND logic). It can clear specific cell values in the destination and optionally notify a team. This workflow is useful for escalating issues.

```json
{
  "trigger": {
    "type": "When rows are changed",
    "conditions": [
      {
        "column": "Status",
        "operator": "is",
        "value": "Escalated"
      },
      {
        "column": "Priority",
        "operator": "is one of",
        "values": ["High", "Critical"]
      }
    ],
    "conditionLogic": "AND"
  },
### Smartsheet Formula: Cross-Sheet Reference with SUMIFS
Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt
This formula uses SUMIFS to sum values from a 'Budget Range' based on multiple criteria from other specified ranges ('Project Name Range', 'Status Range'). It's useful for aggregated reporting across different sheets.
```smartsheet
=SUMIFS(
  {Budget Range},
  {Project Name Range}, "Project Alpha",
  {Status Range}, "Active"
)
```
### Smartsheet Formula: Progressive Status Indicator with IF
Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt
This formula assigns a color-coded status ('Red', 'Yellow', 'Blue', 'Green') based on the '% Complete' value. It uses nested IF statements to evaluate ranges for completion percentage.
```smartsheet
=IF(
  [% Complete]@row = 0, "Red",
  IF([% Complete]@row < 0.5, "Yellow",
  IF([% Complete]@row < 1, "Blue", "Green"))
)
```
### Smartsheet Formula: VLOOKUP with Error Handling using IFERROR
Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt
This formula attempts to find a value using VLOOKUP from an 'Employee Master' cross-sheet reference. If the lookup fails (e.g., employee not found), it returns the specified error message 'Employee Not Found' using the IFERROR function.
```smartsheet
=IFERROR(
  VLOOKUP([Employee ID]@row, {Employee Master}, 5, false),
  "Employee Not Found"
)
```
### Smartsheet Formula: Nested COLLECT and JOIN for Filtering
Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt
This formula collects task names ('Task Name') that meet specific criteria: assigned to the current row's team member, not 'Complete' status, and 'High' priority. The results are then joined into a single string, separated by newlines (CHAR(10)).
```smartsheet
=JOIN(
  COLLECT(
    {Task Name},
    {Assigned To}, CONTAINS([Team Member]@row, @cell),
    {Status}, <>"Complete",
    {Priority}, "High"
  ),
  CHAR(10)
)
```
### Smartsheet Formula: Automated Health Score with OR and IF
Source: https://context7.com/context7/smartsheet_help/llms.txt
This formula calculates a health score ('Red', 'Yellow', 'Green') based on multiple project metrics including budget variance, schedule variance, and risk level. It uses nested OR and IF functions to evaluate different thresholds for these metrics.
```smartsheet
=IF(
  OR([Budget Variance]@row > 0.1, [Schedule Variance]@row > 5, [Risk Level]@row = "High"),
  "Red",
  IF(
    OR([Budget Variance]@row > 0.05, [Schedule Variance]@row > 2, [Risk Level]@row = "Medium"),
    "Yellow",
    "Green"
  )
)
