### Download and run Selkies AppImage

Source: https://selkies.io

Downloads and runs the latest Selkies AppImage for the current architecture. The AppImage installs nothing and attaches to the existing display and audio server. The command starts the server on port 8080 with basic authentication using the provided user and password.

```bash
export SELKIES_TAG="$(curl -fsSL https://api.github.com/repos/selkies-project/selkies/releases/latest | jq -r '.tag_name')"
export SELKIES_VERSION="${SELKIES_TAG#v}"
APP="selkies-${SELKIES_VERSION}-$(uname -m).AppImage"
curl -O -fsSL "https://github.com/selkies-project/selkies/releases/download/${SELKIES_TAG}/${APP}"
chmod +x "./${APP}"
"./${APP}" --addr=0.0.0.0,:: --port=8080 --basic-auth-user=user --basic-auth-password=mypasswd
```

### Run Selkies desktop container with Docker

Source: https://selkies.io

Starts the reference Selkies desktop container with an embedded TURN server and snakeoil HTTPS certificate. Add `--device /dev/dri` for Intel or AMD GPU acceleration.

```bash
docker run --name selkies -it -d --rm --shm-size=2g -p 8080:8080 \
    ghcr.io/selkies-project/selkies/desktop:main-ubuntu26.04
```

--------------------------------

### Run Selkies desktop container with NVIDIA GPU

Source: https://selkies.io

Starts a Selkies desktop container with NVIDIA GPU support, 2GB shared memory, and port 8080 exposed. Requires the NVIDIA container runtime and a GPU; the container auto-detects the render node and enables NVENC with H.264 High 4:4:4.

```bash
docker run -d --name selkies --shm-size=2g -p 8080:8080 \
  --gpus 1 --runtime nvidia \
  ghcr.io/selkies-project/selkies/desktop:main-ubuntu26.04
```

--------------------------------

### Run LinuxServer.io Webtop container

Source: https://selkies.io

Runs the LinuxServer.io Webtop container, which provides desktop environments like KDE, XFCE, MATE, and i3 on Alpine, Ubuntu, Debian, Fedora, or Arch. Includes GPU auto-detection and passwordless sudo. Access the web UI at https://localhost:3001.

```bash
docker run -d --name webtop --shm-size=1gb -p 3000:3000 -p 3001:3001 \
    -e PUID=1000 -e PGID=1000 -e TZ=Etc/UTC \
    -v ./config:/config \
    lscr.io/linuxserver/webtop:latest
```

--------------------------------

### Run Selkies desktop container with NVIDIA GPU

Source: https://selkies.io

Runs the Selkies desktop container with NVIDIA GPU support. Requires the NVIDIA Container Toolkit v1.20.1 or higher. The runtime flags pass the driver, its Vulkan ICD, and DRM nodes; Selkies automatically picks NVENC. Access the web UI at https://localhost:8080.

```bash
docker run --name selkies -it -d --rm --shm-size=2g -p 8080:8080 \
    --gpus 1 --runtime nvidia \
    ghcr.io/selkies-project/selkies/desktop:main-ubuntu26.04
```
