### Getting Started with Widgets

Source: https://docs.saasquatch.com/developer/squatchjs/v2/reference

Include SaaSquatch web components in your HTML to render referral widgets. Configure global settings like `squatchToken`, `squatchTenant`, and `squatchConfig`.

```APIDOC
## Getting Started
Include either of the squatchjs generated web-components in your page's HTML to render your desired widget:
```html
<!-- EMBED WIDGET -->
<squatch-embed widget="WIDGET_TYPE"
  ><!-- Widget is rendered here --></squatch-embed
>

<!-- POPUP WIDGET -->
<squatch-popup widget="WIDGET_TYPE"
  ><!-- Widget is rendered here --></squatch-popup
>
```
For rendering widgets and API calls, squatchjs respects configurations set on the following:
  * `window.squatchToken`: Signed JWT for calls to the SaaSquatch API -- How to generate valid JWT Tokens
  * `window.squatchTenant`: SaaSquatch tenant alias
  * `window.squatchConfig`: Additional configuration overrides (Optional)
    * `debug`: Turn on console debugging (Default: `false`)
  * `window.squatchOnReady`: Declarative on ready function to be run when the squatch-js module has finished loading
```javascript
<script type="text/javascript">
  window.squatchOnReady = () => {
        squatch.widgets().upsertUser({
      user: {                               // Object (required)
        id: 'USER_ID',                      // String (required)
        accountId: 'USER_ACCOUNT_ID',       // String (required)
        email: 'USER_EMAIL',                // String (optional)
        firstName: 'USER_FIRST_NAME',       // String (optional)
        lastName: 'USER_LAST_NAME',         // String (optional)

        ...
      },
      engagementMedium: 'EMBED', // String (optional: POPUP, EMBED)
      widgetType: 'p/PROGRAM-ID/w/referrerWidget',  // Update PROGRAM-ID
    });
  }
</script>
```
**Note** : If `window.squatchToken` is undefined, widgets will be rendered as Instant Access widgets.
```

--------------------------------

### Example: Publish URL Change on Click

Source: https://docs.saasquatch.com/themes/widgetjs

This example demonstrates how to use `widget.rpc.ready` to ensure the event bus is initialized before publishing a `changeUrl` event when a specific element is clicked. The event includes a URL in its payload.

```javascript
widget.rpc.ready(function() {
    $(‘#changeURL’).click(function() {
        widget.rpc.publish(“changeUrl”, { url : "http://www.referralsaasquatch.com/done" });
    });
});
```

### Pricing Example Calculation

Source: https://docs.saasquatch.com/faq/pricing

Illustrates a pricing scenario for a marketing director considering the Pro Plan based on active users. It details the base cost, user-based additions, and provides an example of a discount structure for referred customers.

```html
<p>I’m a marketing director looking to buy a referral program for my company that has 25,000 active users.</p>
<p>Given that usage I would select the Pro Plan, which would cost $874 per month. (Base of $499 + $375 at $25/1,000 users)</p>
<p>This is an example if your service costs $40/month and you want to give both the referring user and the newly referred users 10% off</p>
<ul>
    <li>One of your customers refers a friend to signup</li>
    <li>That friend signs up, finishes their 15 day trial, and pays their first invoice</li>
    <li>The new friend gets 10% off their first bill ($4 off)</li>
    <li>The referrer get 10% off their next bill for the next 12 months (or until their friend cancels their subscription)</li>
</ul>
```

### Initialize Squatch.js with Conversion Trigger

Source: https://docs.saasquatch.com/developer/conversion

Initialize Squatch.js and include 'account_status: "PAID"' to trigger a conversion. Omit this if using payment system connectors.

```javascript
_sqh.push(['init', {
   tenant_alias: 'test_bpinhag9yagag',
   account_id: 'abc',
   payment_provider_id: null,
   user_id: '5678',
   email: 'bob@example.com',
### Install SaaSquatch.js SDK
Source: https://docs.saasquatch.com/developer/squatchjs/v2/reference
Include the SaaSquatch.js SDK in your HTML to enable referral program features. This snippet should be placed above the `</head>` tag.
```APIDOC
## Install the library
To integrate any SaaSquatch program to your website or web app, copy/paste this snippet of JavaScript above the `</head>` tag of your page:
```html
<script type="text/javascript">
  !(function (a, b) {
    a("squatch", "https://fast.ssqt.io/squatch-js@2", b);
  })(function (a, b, c) {
    var d, e, f;
    (c["_" + a] = {}),
      (c[a] = {}),
      (c[a].ready = function (b) {
        c["_" + a].ready = c["_" + a].ready || [];
        c["_" + a].ready.push(b);
      }),
      (e = document.createElement("script")),
      (e.async = 1),
      (e.src = b),
      (f = document.getElementsByTagName("script")[0]),
      f.parentNode.insertBefore(e, f);
  }, this);
</script>
```
Or load the library synchronously from our CDN:
```html
<script src="https://fast.ssqt.io/squatch-js@2" type="text/javascript"></script>
```
```
--------------------------------
### Initialize Squatch.js for User Identification and Attribution
Source: https://docs.saasquatch.com/developer/attribution
Use the init method to identify users with Squatch.js. Include the referral_code field to trigger attribution manually, or omit it to allow automatic detection of tracking cookies.
```javascript
_sqh.push(['init', {
   tenant_alias: 'test_bpinhag9yagag',
   account_id: 'abc',
   payment_provider_id: null,
   user_id: '5678',
   email: 'bob@example.com',
   first_name: 'John',
   // referral_code: 'BOBTESTERSON' // Include this field to trigger attribution. Ommit this field to let automatic attribution detect tracking cookies
}]);

```
--------------------------------
### Track User Upsert Transformer Example
Source: https://docs.saasquatch.com/integrations/segment-v2/subscription
```

--------------------------------

### widget.rpc.ready

Source: https://docs.saasquatch.com/themes/widgetjs

The `ready` method is an API call that indicates when the event bus has loaded and can begin accepting publish requests. It accepts an anonymous JavaScript function to be called when initialized.

```APIDOC
        c["_".concat(a)].ready = c["_".concat(a)].ready || [];
        c["_".concat(a)].ready.push(b);
      }),
      (e = document.createElement("script")),
      (e.async = 1),
### JSONata Expression Examples
Source: https://docs.saasquatch.com/salesforce/user-guide
Illustrative JSONata expressions demonstrating how to combine static values, logic, and user context data. These examples showcase conditional logic and string concatenation for dynamic field mapping.
```jsonata
"a static value"
```
```jsonata
user.firstName & ' ' & user.lastName
```
```jsonata
"vip" in user.segments ? user.referralCodes.`vip-rewards` : user.referralCodes.rewards
```
