### AnimatorStateQueryAspect Usage Example

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/animator_state_query

Complete example of a system that uses AnimatorStateQueryAspect to query current state and transition info. It shows how to get layer current state and transition info and compare hashes. Note: the code contains a typo '===' in the transition comparison.

```csharp
using FixedStringName = Unity.Collections.FixedString512Bytes;
public partial struct MySystem : ISystem
{
    uint myStateHash, myTransitionHash;
    public void OnStart(ref SystemState state)
    {
        myStateHash = new FixedStringName("State Name").CalculateHash32();
        myTransitionHash = new FixedStringName("State Name -> State Other Name").CalculateHash32();
    }
    public void OnUpdate(ref SystemState state)
    {
        foreach (var layers in SystemAPI.Query<DynamicBuffer<AnimatorControllerLayerComponent>>())
        {
            animatorState = new AnimatorStateQueryAspect(layers);
            //  Specify required layer index of animator.
            var layerIndex = 0;
            //  Get animator current state
            var runtimeState = animatorState.GetLayerCurrentStateInfo(layerIndex);
            //  Use received RuntimeStateInfo structure to access to the current state hash, and normalized state time
            if (runtimeState.hash == myStateHash)
            {
                //  Do something...
            }
            //  Get current transition
            var transitionState = animatorState.GetLayerCurrentTransitionInfo(layerIndex);
            if (myTransitionHash === transitionState.hash)
            {
                //  Do something...
            }
        }
    }
}
```

### Better Shaders configuration with StackableRukhankaDeformation.surfshader

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/shaders_with_deformations

Example of a Better Shaders shader configuration that includes the Rukhanka deformation stackable shader. The StackableRukhankaDeformation.surfshader must be the first line in the BEGIN_SUBSHADERS block. Use StackableRukhankaDeformationMotionVectors.surfshader instead if RUKHANKA_ENABLE_DEFORMATION_MOTION_VECTORS is defined.

```c
BEGIN_OPTIONS
   Stackable "False"
   ShaderName "BetterShaders/LitAnimated"
END_OPTIONS
BEGIN_SUBSHADERS
   // Must be first line in subshader list
   "StackableRukhankaDeformation.surfshader"
   // Use this line instead if RUKHANKA_ENABLE_DEFORMATION_MOTION_VECTORS script symbol is defined
   //"StackableRukhankaDeformationMotionVectors.surfshader"
   "Lit.surfshader"
END_SUBSHADERS
```

### Use AnimatorParametersAspect to set and get parameter values

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/animator_parameters

Shows how to query AnimatorParametersAspect and use FastAnimatorParameter methods to set and get parameter values. Some functions accept FixedString with parameter names, but those are slower and meant for prototyping only.

```csharp
[BurstCompile]
partial struct ProcessInputJob: IJobEntity
{
    public InputStateData inputData;
    public FastAnimatorParameter floatParam;
    public FastAnimatorParameter intParam;
    public FastAnimatorParameter triggerParam;
    public FastAnimatorParameter boolParam;
    void Execute(DynamicBuffer<AnimatorControllerParameterComponent> animatorParametersBuf,
                 AnimatorControllerParameterIndexTableComponent animatorParametersIndexTable)
    {
        var paramAspect = new AnimatorParametersAspect(animatorParametersBuf, animatorParametersIndexTable);
        paramAspect.SetParameterValue(floatParam, 2.2f);
        paramAspect.SetParameterValue(intParam, 42);
        paramAspect.SetParameterValue(boolParam, true);
        paramAspect.SetTrigger(triggerParam);
        var floatValue = paramAspect.GetFloatParameter(floatParam);
        var boolValue = paramAspect.GetBoolParameter(boolParam);
    }
}
```

### OnUpdate method accessing RuntimeAnimationData

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/altering_animation_results

Shows how to get a reference to the RuntimeAnimationData singleton in the OnUpdate method before initializing the job.

```csharp
public void OnUpdate(ref SystemState ss)
{
    ...
    ref var runtimeData = ref SystemAPI.GetSingletonRW<RuntimeAnimationData>().ValueRW;
    ...
}
```

--------------------------------

### Blob Database Runtime Access

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/no_animator

Shows how to compute an animation hash during baking and query the BlobDatabaseSingleton at runtime to retrieve the animation clip blob asset reference. Requires an authoringClip and authoringAvatar.

```csharp
//  Baker
AnimationClip authoringClip = ...
Avatar authoringAvatar = ...
var animationHash = Rukhanka.Hybrid.BakingUtils.ComputeAnimationHash(authoringClip, authoringAvatar);
...
// SystemBase or ISystem
if (SystemAPI.TryGetSingleton<Rukhanka.BlobDatabaseSingleton>(out var blobDBSingleton))
{
    blobDBSingleton.animations.TryGetValue(animationHash, out var animationClipBlobAssetReference);
}
```

--------------------------------

### AnimationStream.Create usage in Execute

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/altering_animation_results

Demonstrates creating an AnimationStream helper to access bone transform data for a specific rig within an IJobEntity Execute function.

```csharp
void Execute(Entity entity, RigDefinitionComponent rigDef) // Execute function of IJobEntity
{
    ...
    using var animStream = AnimationStream.Create(runtimeData, entity, rigDef);
    ...
}
```

### Bake MyAnimatorComponent with MyAnimatorBaker

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/no_animator

Baker for MyAnimatorAuthoring that bakes the animation clip using Rukhanka's AnimationClipBaker, stores the blob in a NewBlobAssetDatabaseRecord buffer, and adds MyAnimatorComponent to the entity.

```csharp
//  Baker for the MyAnimatorAuthoring
class MyAnimatorBaker: Baker<MyAnimatorAuthoring>
{
    public override void Bake(MyAnimatorAuthoring authoring)
    {
        //  Avatar is needed for baking purposes
        var rigDef = GetComponent<Rukhanka.Hybrid.RigDefinitionAuthoring>();
        var avatar = rigDef.GetAvatar();
        // Instantiate AnimationClipBaker class and bake required animations
        var animationBaker = new Rukhanka.Hybrid.AnimationClipBaker();
        var bakedAnimations = animationBaker.BakeAnimations(this, new [] {authoring.clip}, avatar, authoring.gameObject);
        //  Baked animation should be stored in the animation blob database for the ability to be queried in runtime using animation hash
        //  NewBlobAssetDatabaseRecord buffer serves this purpose
        var entity = GetEntity(authoring, TransformUsageFlags.None);
        var newBlobsBuffer = AddBuffer<Rukhanka.NewBlobAssetDatabaseRecord<Rukhanka.AnimationClipBlob>>(entity);
        var animationBlobAssetReference = bakedAnimations[0];
        if (animationBlobAssetReference.IsCreated)
        {
            var newAnimationBlob = new Rukhanka.NewBlobAssetDatabaseRecord<Rukhanka.AnimationClipBlob>()
            {
                hash = animationBlobAssetReference.Value.hash,
                value = animationBlobAssetReference
            };
            newBlobsBuffer.Add(newAnimationBlob);
        }
        //  Construct MyAnimatorComponent and assign baked animation clip blob asset reference to it
        var myAnimator = new MyAnimatorComponent()
        {
            clipBlob = animationBlobAssetReference,
            normalizedAnimationTime = 0
        };
        AddComponent(entity, myAnimator);
    }
}
```

### Add variables to UserPropertyMetadata DOTS instancing section

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/shaders_with_deformations

Add these variables to the UserPropertyMetadata DOTS instancing props section.

```hlsl
#ifdef UNITY_DOTS_INSTANCING_ENABLED
UNITY_DOTS_INSTANCING_START(UserPropertyMetadata)
  UNITY_DOTS_INSTANCED_PROP(float, _DeformedMeshIndex)
  UNITY_DOTS_INSTANCED_PROP(float4, _DeformationParamsForMotionVectors)
UNITY_DOTS_INSTANCING_END(UserPropertyMetadata)
#endif
```

--------------------------------

### Calculate Hash for Transition Name

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/animator_state_query

Constructs a FixedStringName for a transition and calculates its hash code using CalculateHash32().

```csharp
var transitionName = new FixedStringName("Turn Right -> Turn Left");
var transitionHash = transitionName.CalculateHash32();
```

--------------------------------

### Setting world position with BonePositionOverrideComponent

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/altering_animation_results

Shows how to modify the Execute signature to include BonePositionOverrideComponent and use AnimationStream.SetWorldPosition to override the bone's world pose.

```csharp
void Execute(Entity entity, RigDefinitionComponent rigDef, BonePositionOverrideComponent bonePosOverride)
{
    ...
    animStream.SetWorldPosition(bonePosOverride.boneIndex, bonePosOverride.newWorldPose);
    ...
}
```

### Custom Animator System with ScriptedAnimator

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/no_animator

A complete ISystem that updates MyAnimatorComponent.normalizedAnimationTime and plays animations via Rukhanka.ScriptedAnimator. It schedules a parallel IJobEntity that resets and plays animation each frame. Requires a MyAnimatorComponent with a clipBlob field.

```csharp
using Unity.Burst;
using Unity.Entities;
[UpdateBefore(typeof(Rukhanka.RukhankaAnimationSystemGroup))]
partial struct MyAnimatorSystem: ISystem
{
    [BurstCompile]
    partial struct MyAnimatorControllerJob: IJobEntity
    {
        public float deltaTime;
        void Execute(ref MyAnimatorComponent myAnimator, ref DynamicBuffer<Rukhanka.AnimationToProcessComponent> animationToProcessBuffer)
        {
            //  Increase animation play time by deltaTime. Take into account animation length in seconds
            myAnimator.normalizedAnimationTime += deltaTime / myAnimator.clipBlob.Value.length;
            //  Clear all previous frame animations
            Rukhanka.ScriptedAnimator.ResetAnimationState(ref animationToProcessBuffer);
            //  Play animation at a given time
            Rukhanka.ScriptedAnimator.PlayAnimation(ref animationToProcessBuffer, myAnimator.clipBlob, myAnimator.normalizedAnimationTime);
        }
    }
    [BurstCompile]
    public void OnUpdate(ref SystemState ss)
    {
        var myAnimatorControllerJob = new MyAnimatorControllerJob()
        {
            deltaTime = SystemAPI.Time.DeltaTime
        };
        myAnimatorControllerJob.ScheduleParallel();
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Include deformation compute file

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/shaders_with_deformations

Include the deformation compute file after the UserPropertyMetadata section.

```cs
#include "Packages/com.rukhanka.animation/Rukhanka.Runtime/Deformation/Resources/ComputeDeformedVertex.hlsl"
```

--------------------------------

### Direct Buffer Indexing with DynamicBuffer<AnimatorControllerParameterComponent>

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/animator_parameters

Shows how to access and modify animator parameters directly via DynamicBuffer. Parameters are ordered as defined in Unity's Animator from top to bottom. This approach is fast but has no name-value relationship, so reordering parameters breaks logic.

```csharp
[BurstCompile]
partial struct ProcessInputJob: IJobEntity
{
    void Execute(ref DynamicBuffer<AnimatorControllerParameterComponent> allParams)
    {
        var someParameter = allParams[0];
        //  Increment parameter
        someParameter.FloatValue += 1.0f;
        //  Put value back in the array
        allParams[0] = someParameter;
        ...
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Enable DOTS instancing variant

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/shaders_with_deformations

Add this pragma to each pass to enable the DOTS instancing variant.

```hlsl
#pragma multi_compile _ DOTS_INSTANCING_ON
```

--------------------------------

### Pass FastAnimatorParameters to ProcessInputJob

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/animator_parameters

Shows how to pass prepared FastAnimatorParameter instances into the job from OnUpdate.

```csharp
protected override void OnUpdate()
{
    var processInputJob = new ProcessInputJob()
    {
        blendParam = this.blendParam,
        runSpeedParam = this.runSpeedParam,
        inAirParam = this.inAirParam
    };
    ...
}
```

--------------------------------

### Dynamic Bone Chain Component and Buffer Definitions

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/procedural_animation

Defines the DynamicBoneChainComponent and DynamicBoneChainNode buffer element used by the dynamic bone chain simulation. The component stores simulation parameters and state, while the buffer holds per-node data for the bone chain.

```csharp
public struct DynamicBoneChainComponent: IComponentData, IEnableableComponent
{
    public float inertia;
    public float damping;
    public float elasticity;
    public float stiffness;
    public float timeAccumulator;
    public float3 prevPosition;
}
public struct DynamicBoneChainNode: IBufferElementData
{
    public int parentIndex;
    public float3 position;
    public float3 prevPosition;
    public BoneTransform referenceLocalPose;
    public Entity boneEntity;
}
```

--------------------------------

### SimpleBonePositionOverride system declaration

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/altering_animation_results

Declares a partial struct system that updates in the RukhankaAnimationInjectionSystemGroup and requires matching queries for update.

```csharp
[UpdateInGroup(typeof(RukhankaAnimationInjectionSystemGroup))]
[RequireMatchingQueriesForUpdate]
public partial struct SimpleBonePositionOverride: ISystem
{
    ...
}
```

--------------------------------

### Define FastAnimatorParameter fields in PlayerControllerSystem

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/animator_parameters

Shows how to define FastAnimatorParameter fields for each animator parameter name. These are used for hash-based access and are prepared during baking.

```csharp
public partial class PlayerControllerSystem: SystemBase
{
    FastAnimatorParameter blendParam  = new FastAnimatorParameter("Blend");
    FastAnimatorParameter runSpeedParam  = new FastAnimatorParameter("RunSpeed");
    FastAnimatorParameter inAirParam  = new FastAnimatorParameter("InAir");
    ...
}
```

--------------------------------

### Animator Parameters Aspect migration: after v2.5.0

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/upgrading_rukhanka

Shows the new way to use AnimatorParametersAspect in v2.5.0: pass the required buffers and index table to the Execute method and construct the aspect manually.

```csharp
struct MyAnimationProcessingJob: IJobEntity
{
    public FastAnimatorParameter moveSpeedParam;
    void Execute(DynamicBuffer<AnimatorControllerParameterComponent> animatorParametersBuf,
                 AnimatorControllerParameterIndexTableComponent animatorParametersIndexTable)
    {
        var apa = new AnimatorParametersAspect(animatorParametersBuf, animatorParametersIndexTable);
        apa.SetFloatParameter(moveSpeedParam, 1.0f);
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Animator State Query Aspect migration: after v2.5.0

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/upgrading_rukhanka

Shows the new way to use AnimatorStateQueryAspect in v2.5.0: pass the layers buffer to the Execute method and construct the aspect manually.

```csharp
struct MyAnimatorStateQueryJob: IJobEntity
{
    void Execute(DynamicBuffer<AnimatorControllerLayerComponent> layers)
    {
        var animatorStateQuery = new AnimatorStateQueryAspect(layers);
        //  Use animatorStateQuery object
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Animator State Query Aspect migration: before v2.5.0

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/upgrading_rukhanka

Shows the deprecated usage of AnimatorStateQueryAspect as an implicit IJobEntity parameter before v2.5.0. Replace with the after version that constructs the aspect manually.

```csharp
struct MyAnimatorStateQueryJob: IJobEntity
{
    void Execute(AnimatorStateQueryAspect animatorStateQuery)
    {
        //  Use animatorStateQuery object
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Define MyAnimatorAuthoring and MyAnimatorComponent

Source: https://docs.rukhanka.com/Scripting/no_animator

Defines the authoring MonoBehaviour and runtime ECS component for a single looping animation. The component stores normalized animation time and a blob asset reference to the baked animation clip.

```csharp
using Unity.Entities;
using UnityEngine;
//  Authoring UnityEngine.Component
public class MyAnimatorAuthoring: MonoBehaviour
{
    //  Clip to play
    public AnimationClip clip;
}
//  Runtime ECS component
public struct MyAnimatorComponent: IComponentData
{
    //  Current animation time that will be advanced by custom controller system
    public float normalizedAnimationTime;
    //  Animation clip blob that Rukhanka bakes from authoring UnityEngine.AnimationClip
    public BlobAssetReference<Rukhanka.AnimationClipBlob> clipBlob;
}
```
