Creates a table with columns, primary key, comments, and an index, then runs DESCRIBE to show the resulting output.

```sql
-- Set up a table with columns, primary key, index, and comments
CREATE TABLE customers (
  customer_id BIGINT PRIMARY KEY,
  name VARCHAR,
  email VARCHAR
);
COMMENT ON COLUMN customers.customer_id IS 'Unique identifier for each customer';
COMMENT ON COLUMN customers.name IS 'Name of the customer';
COMMENT ON COLUMN customers.email IS 'Email address of the customer';
COMMENT ON TABLE customers IS 'All customer records';
CREATE INDEX idx_customers_email ON customers(email);
-- Describe the table
DESCRIBE customers;
### Keyed changelog example setup and query
Source: https://docs.risingwave.com/sql/commands/sql-as-changelog
Complete example of using KEY (class_id) with AS CHANGELOG. Includes setting RW_IMPLICIT_FLUSH, creating source and materialized views, inserting and updating data, and querying the latest event per key.
```sql
SET RW_IMPLICIT_FLUSH TO true;

CREATE TABLE source (
    class_id BIGINT,
    description VARCHAR,
    free_usage BOOLEAN
);

CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW grouped_classes AS
SELECT class_id, description, free_usage, COUNT(*) AS n
FROM source
GROUP BY class_id, description, free_usage;

CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW mv AS
WITH changes AS CHANGELOG FROM grouped_classes KEY (class_id)
SELECT class_id, description, free_usage,
       changelog_op AS __op, CAST(_changelog_row_id AS BIGINT) AS __row_id
FROM changes;

INSERT INTO source VALUES (42, 'Beginner', false), (43, 'Basic', false);

UPDATE source
SET description = 'Advanced', free_usage = true WHERE class_id = 42;

SELECT class_id, description, free_usage::INT, __op
FROM (
    SELECT *, ROW_NUMBER() OVER (PARTITION BY class_id ORDER BY __row_id DESC) AS rn
    FROM mv
)
WHERE rn = 1
ORDER BY class_id;

### Enable unaligned joins and example setup

Source: https://docs.risingwave.com/processing/sql/joins

Enables unaligned joins in the session and provides example table creation and an EXPLAIN statement to illustrate the optimization. The EXPLAIN output shows StreamSyncLogStore after the joins, indicating the buffer placement.

```sql
SET streaming_enable_unaligned_join = true;
-- Streaming jobs in the same session will use unaligned join for all their joins.
-- For instance given:
create table t1 (v1 int, v2 int);
create table t2 (v3 int, v4 int);
create table t3 (v5 int, v6 int);
explain create materialized view m1 as select * from t1, t2, t3 where t1.v1 = t2.v3 and t1.v1 = t3.v5;
```

```text
    StreamMaterialize { columns: [v1, v2, v3, v4, v5, v6, t1._row_id(hidden), t2._row_id(hidden), t3._row_id(hidden)], stream_key: [t1._row_id, t2._row_id, v1, t3._row_id], pk_columns: [t1._row_id, t2._row_id, v1, t3._row_id], pk_conflict: NoCheck }
### Install the monitoring stack
Source: https://docs.risingwave.com/operate/monitor-risingwave-cluster
Runs the install script to deploy the monitoring stack. It creates the 'monitoring' namespace and deploys all monitoring services in that namespace.
```bash
./monitoring/install.sh
```
### Create project directory and virtual environment
Source: https://docs.risingwave.com/integrations/other/sqlmesh
Commands to create a project directory and Python virtual environment for the SQLMesh-RisingWave demo.
```bash
mkdir sqlmesh-risingwave-demo
cd sqlmesh-risingwave-demo
python3 -m venv venv
source venv/bin/activate # Adjust activation for your OS/shell
```
### Switch Database with SET DATABASE TO and USE
Source: https://docs.risingwave.com/sql/commands/sql-set
Examples showing how to switch databases during an active session using SET DATABASE TO or USE, without disconnecting and reconnecting.
```sql
-- Switch database using SET DATABASE TO
SET DATABASE TO sales_db;

-- Switch database using USE
USE marketing_db;
```
### Run RisingWave via Docker
Source: https://docs.risingwave.com/get-started/quickstart
Starts a RisingWave single-node instance using Docker. Requires Docker Desktop to be installed and running.
```bash
docker run -it --pull=always -p 4566:4566 -p 5691:5691 risingwavelabs/risingwave:latest single_node

### Configuring backfill parallelism example

Source: https://docs.risingwave.com/operate/view-configure-runtime-parameters

Example showing how to set streaming parallelism parameters and observe the effect on a materialized view. The view uses parallelism 2 during backfill and switches to 3 after completion.

```sql
SET STREAMING_PARALLELISM = 3;
SET STREAMING_PARALLELISM_FOR_BACKFILL = 2;
SET BACKFILL_RATE_LIMIT = 1;
SET BACKGROUND_DDL = true;
CREATE TABLE t(v int);
INSERT INTO t SELECT * FROM generate_series(1, 10);
CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW m AS SELECT * FROM t;
-- While backfill is running, check parallelism
SHOW JOBS;
SELECT name, parallelism FROM rw_fragment_parallelism WHERE name = 'm';
-- Output: parallelism = 2 (using streaming_parallelism_for_backfill)
-- After backfill completes, check parallelism again
SHOW JOBS;
SELECT name, parallelism FROM rw_fragment_parallelism WHERE name = 'm';
-- Output: parallelism = 3 (switched to streaming_parallelism)
