Use this snippet to set up a basic FTP server with virtual users, connection limits, and passive port ranges. Ensure pyftpdlib is installed.

```python
import os
from pyftpdlib.authorizers import DummyAuthorizer
from pyftpdlib.handlers import FTPHandler
from pyftpdlib.servers import FTPServer
# Instantiate a dummy authorizer for managing 'virtual' users
authorizer = DummyAuthorizer()
# Define a new user having full r/w permissions and a read-only
# anonymous user
authorizer.add_user('user', '12345', '.', perm='elradfmwMT')
authorizer.add_anonymous(os.getcwd())
# Instantiate FTP handler class
handler = FTPHandler
handler.authorizer = authorizer
# Define a customized banner (string returned when client connects)
handler.banner = "pyftpdlib based FTP server ready."
# Specify a masquerade address and the range of ports to use for
# passive connections.  Decomment in case you're behind a NAT.
#handler.masquerade_address = '151.25.42.11'
#handler.passive_ports = range(60000, 65535)
# Instantiate FTP server class and listen on all interfaces, port 2121
address = ('', 2121)
server = FTPServer(address, handler)
# set a limit for connections
server.max_cons = 256
server.max_cons_per_ip = 5
# start ftp server
server.serve_forever()
```

def main():
    authorizer = DummyAuthorizer()
    authorizer.add_user('user', '12345', '.')
    handler = FTPHandler
    handler.authorizer = authorizer
    server = MultiprocessFTPServer(('', 2121), handler)
    server.serve_forever()

if __name__ == "__main__":
    main()

```
### Store Passwords as MD5 Hash Digests
Source: https://pyftpdlib.readthedocs.io/en/latest/_sources/tutorial.rst.txt
Implement password hashing using MD5 for enhanced security. This example customizes the authorizer to validate MD5 hashes.
```python
import os
import hashlib

from pyftpdlib.handlers import FTPHandler
from pyftpdlib.servers import FTPServer
from pyftpdlib.authorizers import DummyAuthorizer, AuthenticationFailed

class DummyMD5Authorizer(DummyAuthorizer):

    def validate_authentication(self, username, password, handler):
        hash_ = hashlib.md5(password.encode('latin1')).hexdigest()
        try:
            if self.user_table[username]['pwd'] != hash_:
                raise KeyError
        except KeyError:
            raise AuthenticationFailed

def main():
    # get a hash digest from a clear-text password
    password = '12345'
    hash_ = hashlib.md5(password.encode('latin1')).hexdigest()
    authorizer = DummyMD5Authorizer()
    authorizer.add_user('user', hash_, os.getcwd(), perm='elradfmwMT')
    authorizer.add_anonymous(os.getcwd())
    handler = FTPHandler
    handler.authorizer = authorizer
    server = FTPServer(('', 2121), handler)
    server.serve_forever()

if __name__ == "__main__":
    main()
```
### FTPS Server Configuration
Source: https://pyftpdlib.readthedocs.io/en/latest/_sources/tutorial.rst.txt
Configure an FTPS server using TLS_FTPHandler, specifying certificate and key file paths. This setup enables secure FTP connections over TLS/SSL.
```python
"""
    An RFC-4217 asynchronous FTPS server supporting both SSL and TLS.
    Requires PyOpenSSL module (https://pypi.org/project/pyOpenSSL).
    """

from pyftpdlib.servers import FTPServer
from pyftpdlib.authorizers import DummyAuthorizer
from pyftpdlib.handlers import TLS_FTPHandler

def main():
    authorizer = DummyAuthorizer()
    authorizer.add_user('user', '12345', '.', perm='elradfmwMT')
    authorizer.add_anonymous('.')
    handler = TLS_FTPHandler
    handler.certfile = '/path/to/ftpd.crt'  # <--
    handler.keyfile = '/path/to/ftpd.key'  # <--
    handler.authorizer = authorizer
    # optionally require SSL for both control and data channel
    #handler.tls_control_required = True
    #handler.tls_data_required = True
    server = FTPServer(('', 21), handler)
    server.serve_forever()

if __name__ == '__main__':
    main()
```
--------------------------------
### Implement Pre-fork Model FTP Server
Source: https://pyftpdlib.readthedocs.io/en/latest/tutorial.html
Utilize the pre-fork model for UNIX systems by setting worker_processes to os.cpu_count(). This model spawns worker processes before server start for load distribution.
```python
import os

from pyftpdlib.handlers import FTPHandler
from pyftpdlib.servers import FTPServer
from pyftpdlib.authorizers import DummyAuthorizer

def main():
    authorizer = DummyAuthorizer()
    authorizer.add_user('user', '12345', '.')
    handler = FTPHandler
    handler.authorizer = authorizer
    server = FTPServer(('', 2121), handler)
    server.serve_forever(worker_processes=os.cpu_count())

if __name__ == "__main__":
    main()

```
--------------------------------
### Instantiate FTPHandler
Source: https://pyftpdlib.readthedocs.io/en/latest/api.html
Basic usage requires creating an instance of FTPHandler and specifying an authorizer.
```python
from pyftpdlib.handlers import FTPHandler
>>> handler = FTPHandler
>>> handler.authorizer = authorizer
```
### Filesystem Interaction
Source: https://pyftpdlib.readthedocs.io/en/latest/_sources/api.rst.txt
Documentation for filesystem-related classes and methods in pyftpdlib.
```APIDOC
## Filesystem Classes and Methods

### `pyftpdlib.filesystems.FilesystemError`

* **Description**: Exception class for custom error messages sent to the FTP client. New in version 1.0.0.

### `pyftpdlib.filesystems.AbstractedFS`

* **Description**: A class for interacting with the filesystem, providing a cross-platform interface. It emulates a UNIX chroot jail and wraps `os.*` calls and the `open()` builtin. Paths use `/` as the separator, even on Windows. The constructor accepts `root` (user's home directory) and `cmd_channel` (an `FTPHandler` instance).
* **Changed in version 0.6.0**: `root` and `cmd_channel` arguments were added.

#### Attributes

* **`root`** (string): User's home directory ("real"). Changed in version 0.7.0 to support `setattr()`.
* **`cwd`** (string): User's current working directory ("virtual"). Changed in version 0.7.0 to support `setattr()`.

#### Methods

* **`ftpnorm(ftppath)`**: Normalizes a "virtual" FTP pathname based on the current working directory.
* **`ftp2fs(ftppath)`**: Translates a "virtual" FTP pathname to an absolute "real" filesystem pathname.
* **`fs2ftp(fspath)`**: Translates a "real" filesystem pathname to an absolute "virtual" FTP pathname.
* **`validpath(path)`**: Checks if a "real" filesystem path belongs to the user's home directory. Resolves symbolic links and returns `False` if they escape the user's root directory.
*   **`open(filename, mode)`**: Wrapper around the built-in `open()` function.
*   **`mkdir(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.mkdir()`.
*   **`chdir(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.chdir()`.
*   **`rmdir(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.rmdir()`.
*   **`remove(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.remove()`.
*   **`rename(src, dst)`**: Wrapper around `os.rename()`.
*   **`chmod(path, mode)`**: Wrapper around `os.chmod()`.
*   **`stat(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.stat()`.
*   **`lstat(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.lstat()`.
*   **`readlink(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.readlink()`.
*   **`isfile(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.path.isfile()`.
*   **`islink(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.path.islink()`.
*   **`isdir(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.path.isdir()`.
*   **`getsize(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.path.getsize()`.
*   **`getmtime(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.path.getmtime()`.
*   **`realpath(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.path.realpath()`.
*   **`lexists(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.path.lexists()`.
*   **`mkstemp(suffix='', prefix='', dir=None, mode='wb')`**: Wrapper around `tempfile.mkstemp()`.
* **`listdir(path)`**: Wrapper around `os.listdir()`. Can return a list or a generator (since version 1.6.0).
```
