perlbrew alias create perl-5.14.0 stable
```
--------------------------------
### Switch Perl Version in CSH/TCSH
Source: https://perlbrew.pl/Release-0.20.html
For CSH/TCSH users, the 'switch' command now requires quitting the current shell and starting a new one, or running 'exec tcsh' for the change to take effect due to the removal of the global 'current' symlink.
```csh
exec tcsh
```
--------------------------------
### Create and use a local library with perlbrew
### sitecustomize.pl to automatically add local library paths
Source: https://perlbrew.pl/Install-a-sitecustomize.pl-file-with-perlbrew.html
This script checks if the executing script is within a local library's bin directory and automatically adds the corresponding lib/perl5 path to @INC.
```perl
use strict;
use Config;
use Cwd ();
my %seen;
my @bindirs =
  grep { defined && !$seen{$_}++ }
  map { $Config{"install". $_} }
  map { ("${_}bin", "${_}script") } "", "site", "vendor";

my $script = Cwd::realpath($0);

if ( ! grep { /\Q$script\E/ } @bindirs ) {
  my @path = split "/", $script;
  if ( @path > 2 ) { # at least /bin/foo
    pop @path; # get rid of script filename
    my $installbase = join("/", @path[0 .. $#path-1], 'lib', 'perl5');
    if ( $path[-1] eq 'bin' && -d $installbase ) {
      require lib;
      lib->import($installbase);
    }
  }
}

```
--------------------------------
```

--------------------------------

### Activate Perl Version in Sub-shell

Source: https://perlbrew.pl/Release-0.29.html

When shell integration is not available or not sourced, perlbrew launches a sub-shell to activate a specific Perl version. You must explicitly 'exit' this sub-shell to return to your original shell.

```bash
% perlbrew use 5.12.3
A sub-shell is launched with perl-5.12.3 as the activated perl. Run 'exit' to finish it.
```

--------------------------------

### Execute Perl Script with Specific Perl Version using perlbrew exec

Source: https://perlbrew.pl/Perlbrew-In-Shell-Scripts.html

Use 'perlbrew exec' to run a Perl script with a specified Perl version, passing all command-line arguments. This is useful for single-invocation scripts.

```bash
#!/bin/bash
exec /home/gugod/perl5/perlbrew/bin/perlbrew exec -q --with perl-5.28.1 \
    perl /apps/myapp/bin/myapp.pl $*
```

--------------------------------

### Cryptic Perl Shebang

Source: https://perlbrew.pl/Dealing-with-shebangs.html

This shebang uses /bin/sh to execute a Perl script, attempting to find the correct Perl interpreter via environment variables.

```sh
#!/bin/sh
#! -*−perl−*−
eval 'exec perl -x -wS $0 ${1+"$@"}'
    if 0;
```

--------------------------------

### System Perl Shebang

Source: https://perlbrew.pl/Dealing-with-shebangs.html

This is a common shebang that directly invokes the Perl interpreter located at /usr/bin/perl.

```perl
#!/usr/bin/perl
```
