### Compile and Install libosmocore

Source: https://osmocom.org/projects/libosmocore/wiki/Libosmocore

Compiles and installs libosmocore as a standalone library. This includes running autoreconf, configure, make, and make install.

```bash
cd libosmocore/
autoreconf -i
./configure
make
sudo make install
sudo ldconfig -i
cd ..
```

--------------------------------

### Install Build Dependencies

Source: https://osmocom.org/projects/libosmocore/wiki/Libosmocore

Installs essential build tools and libraries required for compiling libosmocore. Ensure these are present before proceeding with the build.

```bash
sudo apt-get install build-essential libtool libtalloc-dev libsctp-dev shtool autoconf automake git-core pkg-config make gcc gnutls-dev python-minimal libusb-1.0.0-dev libmnl-dev liburing-dev
```

--------------------------------

### General NS Configuration Example

Source: https://osmocom.org/projects/libosmocore/wiki/Network_service_%28NS%29

A valid configuration example applicable to both gprs_ns (1) and gprs_ns2. It sets various NS timers and PCU specific settings.

```text
ns
 timer tns-block 3
 timer tns-block-retries 3
 timer tns-reset 3
 timer tns-reset-retries 3
 timer tns-test 30
 timer tns-alive 3
 timer tns-alive-retries 10
pcu
 gb-dialect ip-sns
```

--------------------------------

### Install Optional PCSC Library

Source: https://osmocom.org/projects/libosmocore/wiki/Libosmocore

Installs the PCSC Lite development library, which is optional but may be required for certain functionalities.

```bash
sudo apt-get install libpcsclite-dev
```

--------------------------------

### gprs_ns2 UDP Configuration Example

Source: https://osmocom.org/projects/libosmocore/wiki/Network_service_%28NS%29

This is an example of the new (gprs_ns2) UDP configuration for the network service, using a generalized bind approach.

```text
ns
 timer tns-block 3
 timer tns-block-retries 3
 timer tns-reset 3
 timer tns-reset-retries 3
 timer tns-test 30
 timer tns-alive 3
 timer tns-alive-retries 10
 bind udp local
  listen 127.0.0.1 23000
  accept-ipaccess
```

--------------------------------

### gprs_ns (1) UDP Configuration Example

Source: https://osmocom.org/projects/libosmocore/wiki/Network_service_%28NS%29

This is an example of the old (gprs_ns 1) UDP configuration for the network service, specifying encapsulation details.

```text
ns
 timer tns-block 3
 timer tns-block-retries 3
 timer tns-reset 3
 timer tns-reset-retries 3
 timer tns-test 30
 timer tns-alive 3
 timer tns-alive-retries 10
 encapsulation udp local-ip 127.0.0.1
 encapsulation udp local-port 23000
 encapsulation framerelay-gre enabled 0
```

--------------------------------

### Obtain libosmocore Source Code

Source: https://osmocom.org/projects/libosmocore/wiki/Libosmocore

Clones the libosmocore Git repository to obtain the latest source code.

```bash
git clone https://gitea.osmocom.org/osmocom/libosmocore.git
```

--------------------------------

### Compile libosmocore without PCSC

Source: https://osmocom.org/projects/libosmocore/wiki/Libosmocore

Configures the build process to exclude the PCSC library, useful if PCSC support is not needed.

```bash
./configure --disable-pcsc
```
