### GetCapabilities CSW Request

Source: https://opentopography.org/developers

This example shows how to make an HTTP GET request to retrieve service metadata for the OpenTopography CSW service. Ensure you have the correct base URL and parameters.

```http
### GetRecordById CSW Request
Source: https://opentopography.org/developers
This example demonstrates how to retrieve a specific record from the OpenTopography CSW catalog using its unique ID. Replace the placeholder ID with the actual record identifier.
```http
https://portal.opentopography.org/geoportal/csw?REQUEST=GetRecordById&service=CSW&version=2.0.2&Id={5D08C4EB-45FA-4FCB-A07A-E1B5E8B61AB3}

### Catalogue Service for the Web (CSW)

Source: https://opentopography.org/developers

Provides access to OpenTopography's data catalog via the OGC CSW standard.

```APIDOC
## Catalogue Service for the Web (CSW)
### Description
CSW (Catalogue Service for the Web) is an OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) specification that defines common interfaces to discover, browse, and query metadata about data and services. OpenTopography provides access to its data catalog via the CSW standard.
### Implementation
OpenTopography's CSW endpoints are implemented using Esri Geoportal Server with support for the OGC CS-W 2.0.2 standard. It supports various protocols including REST, GeoRSS, OpenSearch, CSW, ATOM, GeoJSON, KML, and HTML.
### Operations
#### GetCapabilities
Provides CSW clients with service metadata as an XML document.
Example: `https://portal.opentopography.org/geoportal/csw/discovery?Request=GetCapabilities&Service=CSW&Version=2.0.2`
#### GetRecordById
Retrieves a specific record by its ID.
Example: `https://portal.opentopography.org/geoportal/csw?REQUEST=GetRecordById&service=CSW&version=2.0.2&Id={5D08C4EB-45FA-4FCB-A07A-E1B5E8B61AB3}`
### Further Information
For more supported operations, refer to the sample requests on the Esri Geoportal Server GitHub wiki or the geoportal server as a Broker help document. The base URL for these operations is `https://portal.opentopography.org/geoportal/csw`.
### Point Elevation API
Source: https://opentopography.org/developers
Retrieves elevation data for a specified latitude and longitude. Supports specifying the topography dataset and requires an API key.
```APIDOC
## Point Elevation API

### Description
Returns elevation data for a specified latitude and longitude, derived from topography datasets hosted by OpenTopography. API also provides option to specify the topography dataset to be used.

### Notes
- API keys are required.
- Default dataset is COP30, but others like ANADEM, ArcticDEM, AW3D30, etc., can be specified.
- Rate limits apply to free API keys (250 calls/day for academics, 50 for non-academics).
- Higher limits available with OpenTopography Plus or Enterprise API keys.
