### Start the OIE server on macOS

Source: https://docs.openintegrationengine.org/engine/getting_started.html

Command to launch the OIE server from the terminal after installation.

```shell
sudo /Applications/OpenIntegrationEngine/oieserver
```

--------------------------------

### Install Plugins via Docker Compose

Source: https://docs.openintegrationengine.org/engine/plugins.html

Use the EXTENSIONS_DOWNLOAD environment variable to fetch and install a plugin bundle from a remote URL.

```yaml
version: '3.8'
services:
  oie:
    image: openintegrationengine/engine:latest
    environment:
      - EXTENSIONS_DOWNLOAD=https://my-bucket.s3.us-east-1.amazonaws.com/my-oie-extensions-bundle.zip
    ports:
      - "8080:8080"
      - "8443:8443"
```

--------------------------------

### Install Plugins via Custom Dockerfile

Source: https://docs.openintegrationengine.org/engine/plugins.html

Create a custom image with plugins pre-installed, then build and run the container.

```dockerfile
FROM openintegrationengine/engine:latest
COPY my-plugin.zip /tmp/
RUN unzip /tmp/my-plugin.zip -d /opt/engine/extensions/ && \
    rm /tmp/my-plugin.zip
```

```bash
docker build -t oie-with-plugins .
docker run -d oie-with-plugins
```

--------------------------------

### Troubleshoot Plugin Startup Failures

Source: https://docs.openintegrationengine.org/engine/plugins.html

Move a problematic plugin out of the extensions directory to allow the server to start.

```bash
# Temporarily move the plugin out of extensions
mv /opt/oie/extensions/problem-plugin /tmp/
```

--------------------------------

### Install Plugins via Docker Volume Mount

Source: https://docs.openintegrationengine.org/engine/plugins.html

Mount a local directory to the container's custom-extensions path for automatic installation upon startup.

```bash
docker run -d \
  -v /path/to/local/custom-extensions:/opt/engine/custom-extensions \
  openintegrationengine/engine:latest
```

--------------------------------

### Manually install a plugin via command line

Source: https://docs.openintegrationengine.org/engine/plugins.html

Use these commands to copy extracted plugin files into the OIE extensions directory when the UI is unavailable.

```bash
cp -r my-plugin /opt/oie/extensions/
```

```powershell
Copy-Item -Recurse my-plugin "C:\Program Files\OIE\extensions\"
```

--------------------------------

### Clone the repository

Source: https://docs.openintegrationengine.org/engine/contributing.html

Use this command to clone your forked repository to your local development environment.

```bash
git clone git@github.com:your-github/engine.git
```

--------------------------------

### Set Plugin Directory Permissions

Source: https://docs.openintegrationengine.org/engine/plugins.html

Ensure the OIE server user has ownership of the plugin directory.

```bash
chown -R oie:oie /opt/oie/extensions/my-plugin
```

--------------------------------

### Create a new branch

Source: https://docs.openintegrationengine.org/engine/contributing.html

Create a new branch for your feature or bug fix before making changes.

```bash
git checkout -b feature/your-feature-name
```

--------------------------------

### Move plugin to temporary directory

Source: https://docs.openintegrationengine.org/engine/plugins.html

Use this command to isolate a potentially incompatible plugin by moving it out of the extensions folder.

```powershell
Move-Item "C:\Program Files\OIE\extensions\problem-plugin" "C:\Temp\"
```

--------------------------------

### Manually Uninstall Plugins

Source: https://docs.openintegrationengine.org/engine/plugins.html

Remove the plugin folder from the extensions directory after stopping the server.

```bash
rm -rf /opt/oie/extensions/my-plugin
```

```powershell
Remove-Item -Recurse -Force "C:\Program Files\OIE\extensions\my-plugin"
```
