### Autoboot configuration example

Source: https://open-power.github.io/petitboot/_sources/func/autoboot.rst.txt

Example configuration file for a boot option that is marked for autoboot. The 'default linux' line marks the option as default, and the subsequent lines define the label, kernel, and append command line.

```none
default linux
label linux
kernel ./pxe/de-ad-de-ad-be-ef.vmlinuz
append command line initrd=./pxe/de-ad-de-ad-be-ef.initrd
```

--------------------------------

### PXE network file with plugin label

Source: https://open-power.github.io/petitboot/func/plugins.html

Example of a PXE network file that includes a 'plugin' label to reference a plugin tarball. The plugin is specified with a label and a tarball URL.

```plaintext
label Install Ubuntu 18.04
     kernel tftp://server/ubuntu-18.04-ppc64el/vmlinux
     initrd tftp://server/ubuntu-18.04-ppc64el/initrd.gz
     append tasks=standard pkgsel/language-pack-patterns= pkgsel/install-language-support=false
plugin RAID Setup
     tarball http://server/path/to/plugin-raid-1.0.pb-plugin
```

--------------------------------

### Merge writes to sda2 with pb-event sync

Source: https://open-power.github.io/petitboot/_sources/func/snapshots.rst.txt

Run this command in the shell to merge writes made to the sda2 partition back to the source device. Petitboot handles the merging and remounts the device read-only.

```none
pb-event sync@sda2
```

--------------------------------

### Boot option configuration with default directive

Source: https://open-power.github.io/petitboot/func/autoboot.html

A boot option configuration file that marks the 'linux' label as the default for autoboot. The 'default' directive is required for Petitboot to consider the option for automatic booting. The kernel and initrd paths are relative to the configuration file location.

```plaintext
default linux
label linux
kernel ./pxe/de-ad-de-ad-be-ef.vmlinuz
append command line initrd=./pxe/de-ad-de-ad-be-ef.initrd
```

--------------------------------

### Disable snapshots with nvram --update-config petitboot,snapshots?=false

Source: https://open-power.github.io/petitboot/_sources/func/snapshots.rst.txt

Disables snapshots so block devices are mounted directly on the next boot. Use this when you want writes to go directly to the physical device.

```none
nvram --update-config petitboot,snapshots?=false
```
