### Install Omabuntu with wget command

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/setup/installation

Run this command in a terminal to download and start the Omabuntu installation. You will be prompted for your username and email to configure Git, and later to confirm extensions. A reboot is required at the end.

```bash
wget -qO- https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/install | bash
```

--------------------------------

### Retry installation

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/setup/troubleshooting

If the initial installation fails, you can manually trigger the installation script.

```bash
source ~/.local/share/omakub/install.sh
```

--------------------------------

### Install Firefox browser with omakub

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/applications/browsers

Installs Firefox from the Mozilla PPA, pinned to prevent replacement by Ubuntu's Snap package. Use this command to install a browser from the terminal.

```bash
omakub install browser firefox
```

--------------------------------

### Install Ruby and Node.js with Mise per-project

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/applications/development-tools

Use these commands in a project directory to install specific runtime versions. They create or update a .mise.toml or .tool-versions file for the project.

```bash
mise use ruby@3.4
mise use node@22
```

--------------------------------

### Install a Web App with omakub-webapp-install

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/applications/web-apps

Run this command from the terminal or via the Omabuntu Menu (Install > Web App) to add a new web app. It prompts for the name, URL, and icon; icons are fetched from the site's favicon when possible, otherwise you are prompted for a URL (dashboardicons.com is suggested). The app opens in Chromium or your configured default browser if it is Chrome, Brave, Edge, Opera, or Vivaldi.

```bash
omakub-webapp-install
```

--------------------------------

### Install Flatpak app

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/configuration/packages

Use this command to install a Flatpak application from Flathub. Replace <app-id> with the application's ID, e.g., com.example.App.

```bash
flatpak install flathub <app-id>
```

--------------------------------

### Install a hook with omakub hook install

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/configuration/hooks

```bash
omakub hook install theme-set ~/my-theme-script
```

--------------------------------

### Install Ruby globally with Mise

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/applications/development-tools

Use the -g flag to install a runtime version globally, affecting all projects.

```bash
mise use -g ruby@3.4
```

--------------------------------

### Install omakub-zellij with apt

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/setup/faq

Install the Zellij package, which is no longer preinstalled in Omabuntu. Tmux is the default terminal multiplexer used by the configuration.

```bash
sudo apt install omakub-zellij
```

--------------------------------

### Example: add and drop a Notes keybinding

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/configuration/extra-hotkeys

Adds a keybinding named 'Notes' that runs 'obsidian' with the key combination <Super><Control>o, then removes it by name. Adding a shortcut that reuses an existing key combination replaces the old one.

```bash
omakub gnome keybinding add "Notes" "obsidian" "<Super><Control>o"
omakub gnome keybinding drop "Notes"
```

--------------------------------

### Review migration logs

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/setup/troubleshooting

```bash
cat /var/log/omabuntu-install.log
```

--------------------------------

### Install a custom AI agent with omakub npm

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/applications/ai

```bash
omakub npm install <package> [command-name]
```

--------------------------------

### Example theme-set hook script (sync-wezterm)

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/configuration/hooks

A bash script that receives the theme name as $1 and writes it to a Wezterm configuration file. This is a sample hook that can be activated by removing the .sample extension.

```bash
#!/bin/bash
# $1 is the theme name
echo "theme = \"$1\"" > ~/.config/wezterm/theme.lua
```

--------------------------------

### Install Chromium Google account service

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/applications/browsers

Installs the Chromium account service to enable Google account sign-in, which fails out of the box due to missing OAuth credentials. Restart Chromium afterwards.

```bash
omakub install chromium google account
```

--------------------------------

### Verify sudo privileges

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/setup/troubleshooting

### Configure Plymouth and GDM themes via CLI

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/essentials/themes

Use the omakub command to set the boot splash (Plymouth) and login screen (GDM) themes, or reset them to the Omabuntu default. Note that Plymouth customization is skipped on systems with LVM disk encryption.

```bash
omakub plymouth set-by-theme "Tokyo Night"   # boot splash
omakub gdm set-by-theme "Tokyo Night"        # login screen
omakub plymouth reset                        # back to the Omabuntu default
omakub gdm reset
```

--------------------------------

### Set default browser and print current default

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/applications/browsers

Sets Firefox as the default browser and prints the current default. The first command sets the XDG handler and http, https, and text/html associations. The second command prints the current default.

```bash
omakub default browser firefox
```

```bash
omakub default browser              # print the current default
```

### Omabuntu GNOME keybinding add and drop commands

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/configuration/extra-hotkeys

Use these commands to add or remove a custom GNOME keybinding. The add command takes a name, command, and keybinding; the drop command takes a name. Running add with no arguments prompts for the three values interactively.

```bash
omakub gnome keybinding add <name> <command> <keybinding>
omakub gnome keybinding drop <name>
```

--------------------------------

### Preview, set, and reset Plymouth boot splash

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/configuration/branding

Preview, apply, and reset the boot splash. The preview command writes an image instead of applying. Setting the boot splash also syncs the login screen to the same colors and logo. Plymouth changes rebuild the initramfs and need sudo; on systems with LVM disk encryption the customization is skipped.

```bash
omakub plymouth preview '#1d2021' '#ebdbb2' logo.png preview.png
omakub plymouth set '#1d2021' '#ebdbb2' logo.png
omakub plymouth reset
```

--------------------------------

### Set background directly with omakub theme bg set

Source: https://omabuntu.omakasui.org/manual/configuration/backgrounds

```bash
omakub theme bg set ~/Pictures/wallpaper.jpg
omakub theme bg set ~/Pictures/wallpaper.jpg center   # zoom, center, stretch, fill, fit, spanned
omakub theme bg next
