### Install Latest Nord Xcode Theme using Git and Symlink

Source: https://www.nordtheme.com/docs/ports/xcode/installation

This process clones the Nord Xcode repository and creates a symbolic link to the theme file. This ensures you are always using the most recent development version. It requires Git to be installed.

```bash
git clone https://github.com/arcticicestudio/nord-xcode
ln -sr "$PWD/src/Nord.xccolortheme" "$HOME/Library/Developer/Xcode/UserData/FontAndColorThemes/Nord.xccolortheme"
```bash
mkdir -p ~/Library/Developer/Xcode/UserData/FontAndColorThemes

### Add Theme Directory to Emacs Load Path

Source: https://www.nordtheme.com/docs/ports/emacs/installation

This Lisp code snippet adds the directory containing custom Emacs themes to the Emacs load path. This is necessary for Emacs to find and load themes not installed through the package manager. It ensures that themes in `~/.emacs.d/themes/` can be accessed.

```emacs-lisp
(add-to-list 'custom-theme-load-path (expand-file-name "~/.emacs.d/themes/"))
```

--------------------------------

### Load Nord Emacs Theme in Emacs Init File

Source: https://www.nordtheme.com/docs/ports/emacs/installation

This Emacs Lisp snippet demonstrates how to load the Nord theme as the default color theme in your Emacs configuration. It assumes the theme has already been installed and its directory added to the load path. The `t` argument enables the theme.

```emacs-lisp
(load-theme 'nord t)
```

### Import Nord Palette in CSS Preprocessors

Source: https://www.nordtheme.com/docs/usage

Import Nord modules in Sass, Less, Stylus, or CSS to access color variables from $nord0 to $nord15 (or @nord0, --nord0). Use these for styling UI elements like backgrounds and text colors. Requires prior installation via npm/yarn; PostCSS plugin allows simplified imports.

```scss
@import "node_modules/nord/src/nord.scss";
body {
  background-color: $nord0;
  color: $nord8;
}
```

```less
@import "node_modules/nord/src/nord.less";
body {
  background-color: @nord0;
  color: @nord8;
}
```

```stylus
@import "node_modules/nord/src/nord.styl";
body {
  background-color: @nord0;
  color: @nord8;
}
```

```css
@import "node_modules/nord/src/nord.css";
body {
  background-color: var(--nord0);
  color: var(--nord8);
}
```

```css
@import "nord";
body {
  background-color: var(--nord0);
  color: var(--nord8);
}
```

### Configure Region Highlight Style in Emacs Lisp

Source: https://www.nordtheme.com/docs/ports/emacs/configuration

Customizes the background color for selected text (region highlight) in the editor. Options include 'frost' (using nord8) or 'snowstorm' (using nord4). Set this before loading the theme.

```emacs-lisp
;; Use `nord8` from Nord's "Frost" palette as background color.
(setq nord-region-highlight "frost")
;; Use `nord4` from Nord's "Snow Storm" palette as background color.
(setq nord-region-highlight "snowstorm")
```

### Disable patched font characters in tmux

Source: https://www.nordtheme.com/docs/ports/tmux/configuration

Sets the @nord_tmux_no_patched_font variable to "1" in the .tmux.conf file, replacing powerline‑style characters with standard Unicode symbols. This helps avoid rendering issues on terminals or fonts that lack support for patched characters. Must be defined before the TPM plugin installation line.

```tmux
set -g @nord_tmux_no_patched_font "1"
```

--------------------------------

### Override Syntax Colors for Nord Theme

Source: https://www.nordtheme.com/docs/ports/visual-studio-code/customization

Customize code syntax highlighting for specific languages like Go or JavaScript using editor.tokenColorCustomizations. Supports both general syntax tokens and TextMate rules for fine-grained control. Requires knowledge of TextMate grammar for advanced customization.

```json5
"editor.tokenColorCustomizations": {
  "[Nord]": {
    // Use a 10% brigher foreground color for all comments.
    "comments": "#7b88a1",
    "textMateRules": [
      {
        // Also use `nord9` as comma foreground color for Go syntax.
        "scope": "punctuation.other.comma.go",
        "settings": {
          "foreground": "#81a1c1"
        }
      }
    ]
  }
}
