fixups = $HOME/bin/fixups
checkout = mkdir -p $HOME/tmp
status = :
order = 25

```
--------------------------------
### Add Tags to Repositories for Selective Operations
### Mr Configuration for /etc Directory
Source: http://myrepos.branchable.com/ikiwiki.cgi?do=goto&page=todo%2Fmr_will_not_clone_to___47__opt%2Fcomment_3_86879f5d33417fc0edacff4cca0dfe68
This example configuration for '/etc' demonstrates a more complex 'skip' condition, ensuring the repository is only managed by 'mr' when the user is root and the directory is already under git control.
```ini
[/etc]
# I use etckeeper to keep /etc in git. But it only works if I'm root,
# and if it's not already in etc, skip it.
skip = ! test -d /etc/.git || ! test "$(whoami)" = root
```
### Configure gbp repository cloning and registration
Source: http://myrepos.branchable.com/todo/Add_gbp_support
This configuration handles cloning a gbp repository and registering its URL. It first retrieves the remote origin URL and then uses `mr` to configure the repository with the gbp clone command.
```shell
gbp_register =
       url="`LC_ALL=C git config --get remote.origin.url`" || true
       if [ -z "$url" ]; then
           error "cannot determine gbp url"

       echo "Registering gbp url: $url in $MR_CONFIG"
       mr -c "$MR_CONFIG" config "`pwd`" checkout="gbp clone '$url'"

Illustrates the errors encountered when `mr fetch` attempts to retrieve from a non-existent or invalid git repository, such as a disconnected USB drive.

```bash
mr fetch: /home/anarcat/Pictures/calendes
Récupération de origin
Récupération de sneakernet
Source: http://myrepos.branchable.com/ikiwiki.cgi?do=goto&page=todo%2FControlMaster%2Fcomment_1_c4ff57e61405d4724dd6d8cf03ecea2b
This configuration enables SSH ControlMaster automatically and specifies the location for control sockets. It's a common setup for managing SSH connections.
```shell
ControlMaster auto
ControlPath ~/.ssh/control-master-%C.sock
```
--------------------------------
### Add Comment Configuration
Source: http://myrepos.branchable.com/recentchanges
This snippet shows the configuration for adding a comment with user, avatar, subject, date, and content. It includes an example of a gitconfig setting for push URLs.
### Workaround: Using Separate Config Files
Source: http://myrepos.branchable.com/forum/How_to_work_on_a_specific_subset_of_repos__63__
This approach involves splitting repository subsets into separate `.mrconfig-foo` files. The global `.mrconfig` can include these, or they can be managed independently if subsets overlap.
```bash
# Example of managing separate config files
# For TaskA subset:
mr -c .mrconfig-TaskA update

# For TaskB subset:
mr -c .mrconfig-TaskB update

```
--------------------------------
### Using Separate .mrconfig Files
Source: http://myrepos.branchable.com/ikiwiki.cgi?do=goto&page=forum%2FHow_to_work_on_a_specific_subset_of_repos__63__%2Fcomment_1_82957cc4d2c4bdbe0a0e20bd709c0c79
This approach involves splitting repository configurations into separate files (e.g., .mrconfig-foo) and including them in the global .mrconfig. This allows `mr` to operate on specific subsets by targeting the relevant configuration file.
```bash
# Example of how to include other config files in .mrconfig
[include]
  files = .mrconfig-foo, .mrconfig-bar
```
--------------------------------
### Using 'order' for dependency management
Source: http://myrepos.branchable.com/ikiwiki.cgi?do=goto&page=todo%2Fconfig___39__order__39___is_ignored_when___39__jobs__39_____62__1
The 'order' setting can be used to ensure one repository is processed after another, which is broken when 'jobs' is greater than 1.
```shell
order = 1
```
--------------------------------
### Get git status and log
Source: http://myrepos.branchable.com/ikiwiki.cgi?do=goto&page=todo%2FAdd_gbp_support%2Fcomment_4_d019df93d0e6d1582ddb79e2369c8dbf
Combines 'git status -s' and 'git log' to show status and unpushed commits. Includes 'git stash list' for stash management.
```shell
gbp_status = git status -s "$@" || true; git --no-pager log --branches --not --remotes --simplify-by-decoration --decorate --oneline || true; git --no-pager stash list
```
--------------------------------
### Alternative mrconfig loading strategy
Source: http://myrepos.branchable.com/ikiwiki.cgi?do=goto&page=forum%2Fskip___126____47__.mrconfig%2Fcomment_2_e197f8e9063750d56b79ab6225a297b4
To manage different sets of repositories, rename ~/.mrconfig to a different name (e.g., ~/.mrconfig-global), include other mr config files within it, and then use the `-c` flag to point to the desired configuration.
```bash
mr -c ~/.mrconfig-global status
```
