### Examples for --ytdl-raw-options and --ytdl-raw-options-append

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Example usages of --ytdl-raw-options and --ytdl-raw-options-append. The first passes username and password, the second passes an option without an argument, and the last two pass a proxy URL (one with brackets, one without).

```text
--ytdl-raw-options=username=user,password=pass
```

```text
--ytdl-raw-options=force-ipv6=
```

```text
--ytdl-raw-options=proxy=[http://127.0.0.1:3128]
```

```text
--ytdl-raw-options-append=proxy=http://127.0.0.1:3128
```

### input.conf key bindings example

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Example input.conf bindings: pressing 's' takes a screenshot, and the left-arrow key seeks forward by 15 seconds.

```plaintext
s screenshot      # take a screenshot with the s key
LEFT seek 15      # map the left-arrow key to seeking forward by 15 seconds
```

### Command-line script options with --script-opts

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Command-line example showing how to pass script options using the --script-opts parameter. All keys must be prefixed with the script identifier.

```plaintext
--script-opts=myscript-optionA=TEST,myscript-optionB=0,myscript-optionC=yes
```

--------------------------------

### Start mpv with --input-ipc-server

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Starts mpv with the JSON IPC server enabled on the specified Unix socket path. This is a prerequisite for the socat examples that follow.

```shell
mpv file.mkv --input-ipc-server=/tmp/mpvsocket
```

--------------------------------

### ytdl_hook-exclude examples

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Two example command-line options for the ytdl_hook exclude option. The first excludes any URL that starts with http://youtube.com or https://youtube.com. The second excludes any URL that ends with .mkv or .mp4. Both use Lua pattern syntax with % escaping.

```text
--script-opts=ytdl_hook-exclude='^youtube%.com'
```

```text
--script-opts=ytdl_hook-exclude='%.mkv$|%.mp4$'
```

--------------------------------

### input.select example

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Shows how to specify a list of items for user selection with a prompt, items table, default item, and submit callback that receives the 1-based index of the selected item.

```lua
input.select({
    prompt = "Select playlist entry",
    items = {
        "First playlist entry",
        "Second playlist entry",
    },
    submit = function (id)
        mp.commandv("playlist-play-index", id - 1)
    end,
})
```

--------------------------------

### Example mpv.conf configuration file

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Shows the mpv.conf syntax with comments, option=value pairs, and an option without a value (hwdec) where =yes is implied. Use this as a template for user-specific or system-wide configuration files.

```plaintext
# Don't allow new windows to be larger than the screen.
autofit-larger=100%x100%
# Enable hardware decoding if available, =yes is implied.
hwdec
# Spaces don't have to be escaped.
osd-playing-msg=File: ${filename}
```

### Initiating an asynchronous command

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Example of sending an asynchronous command via the IPC protocol. The 'async' field is set to true, and the command will not block other IPC interaction. No confirmation of start is sent; the reply arrives when the command finishes.

```json
{ "command": ["screenshot"], "request_id": 123, "async": true }
```

--------------------------------

### Example: override ASS PlayResY

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Example override: sets PlayResY to 768.

```plaintext
--sub-ass-style-overrides=PlayResY=768
```

--------------------------------

### List available scale filters with mpv --scale=help

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Command to list all available scale filters by passing 'help' as the value to --scale.

```bash
mpv --scale=help
```

--------------------------------

### mpv --pitch examples

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Examples of the --pitch option showing octave, perfect fifth, and semitone shifts. Each value is a multiplier; for example, 2 shifts up an octave and 0.5 shifts down an octave.

```plaintext
--pitch=2
```

```plaintext
--pitch=0.5
```

```plaintext
--pitch=1.498307
```

```plaintext
--pitch=0.667420
```

```plaintext
--pitch=1.059463
```

```plaintext
--pitch=0.943874
```

--------------------------------

### Example: --input-commands option

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Sets the playlist index to 1 and the ao-volume to 40 when used as a command-line option.

```plaintext
--input-commands="playlist-play-index 1,set ao-volume 40"
```

--------------------------------

### OSC command-line configuration example

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Use this command-line option to pass OSC configuration options, prefixing each with 'osc-' to avoid collisions with other scripts. Replace optionA and optionB with actual option names and values.

```plaintext
--script-opts=osc-optionA=value1,osc-optionB=value2
```

--------------------------------

### Example: override ASS font and bold

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Example override: sets FontName to Arial and Default.Bold to 1.

```plaintext
--sub-ass-style-overrides=FontName=Arial,Default.Bold=1
```

--------------------------------

### get_property_string command example

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Like get_property, but the resulting data is always a string. The example shows the volume property returned as a string.

```json
{ "command": ["get_property_string", "volume"] }
{ "data": "50.000000", "error": "success" }
```

--------------------------------

### set_property command example

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Sets the given property to the given value. The example sets the pause property to true and receives a success response.

```json
{ "command": ["set_property", "pause", true] }
{ "error": "success" }
```

--------------------------------

### vf set "" example for input.conf

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Binds the 'b' key to remove all video filters by setting an empty filter chain.

```plaintext
b vf set ""
```

--------------------------------

### mpv config file with profiles

Source: https://mpv.io/manual/stable

Example mpv configuration file demonstrating profile definitions, including a top-level option, profiles with options, profile-desc, including other profiles, extending a profile, and referencing a builtin profile.

```ini
# normal top-level option
fullscreen=yes
# a profile that can be enabled with --profile=big-cache
[big-cache]
cache=yes
demuxer-max-bytes=512MiB
demuxer-readahead-secs=20
[network]
profile-desc="profile for content over network"
force-window=immediate
# you can also include other profiles
profile=big-cache
[reduce-judder]
video-sync=display-resample
interpolation=yes
# using a profile again extends it
[network]
demuxer-max-back-bytes=512MiB
# reference a builtin profile
profile=fast
