### Install nsenter package

Source: https://mirantis.github.io/cri-dockerd/development/integration-tests

Install the nsenter system package on an apt-based system, required for running integration tests.

```bash
apt install nsenter
```

--------------------------------

### Start cri-dockerd with make run

Source: https://mirantis.github.io/cri-dockerd/development/integration-tests

Starts an instance of cri-dockerd. Requires sudo permissions and must be left running in its own terminal.

```bash
make run
```

--------------------------------

### Start minikube cluster

Source: https://mirantis.github.io/cri-dockerd/development/development-setup

Starts a minikube cluster, which uses cri-dockerd by default, providing an isolated environment for development.

```bash
minikube start
```

--------------------------------

### Manual install commands for cri-dockerd on Linux with systemd

Source: https://mirantis.github.io/cri-dockerd/usage/install-manually

Run these commands as root to install the cri-dockerd binary to /usr/local/bin, copy systemd unit files, adjust the service file path, and enable the socket. The sed command replaces /usr/bin/cri-dockerd with /usr/local/bin/cri-dockerd in the service file.

```bash
install -o root -g root -m 0755 cri-dockerd /usr/local/bin/cri-dockerd
install packaging/systemd/* /etc/systemd/system
sed -i -e 's,/usr/bin/cri-dockerd,/usr/local/bin/cri-dockerd,' /etc/systemd/system/cri-docker.service
systemctl daemon-reload
systemctl enable --now cri-docker.socket
```

--------------------------------

### Run documentation locally with make docs

Source: https://mirantis.github.io/cri-dockerd/about/documentation

Run this command in the project's root directory to launch the Hugo development server with hot-reloading. Access the docs at http://localhost:1313/.

```bash
make docs
```

--------------------------------

### Build cri-dockerd with make

Source: https://mirantis.github.io/cri-dockerd/development/building

Builds the cri-dockerd binary and outputs it to the project's root directory as 'cri-dockerd'.

```bash
make cri-dockerd
```

--------------------------------

### Run unit tests with make test

Source: https://mirantis.github.io/cri-dockerd/development/unit-tests

Run the unit tests locally without minikube. The results are printed to the terminal with a summary at the end of the test run.

```shell
make test
```

--------------------------------

### Run integration tests with make integration

Source: https://mirantis.github.io/cri-dockerd/development/integration-tests

Runs the integration tests in a second terminal. Results are printed to the terminal with a summary at the end.

```bash
make integration
```

--------------------------------

### Build and swap cri-dockerd with make dev

Source: https://mirantis.github.io/cri-dockerd/development/development-setup

Builds cri-dockerd and swaps it for the version running in the minikube cluster.

```bash
make dev
```

--------------------------------

### Build cri-dockerd for a specific architecture

Source: https://mirantis.github.io/cri-dockerd/development/building

Builds cri-dockerd for a specific architecture by setting the ARCH variable to a known Go build target.

```bash
ARCH=amd64 make cri-dockerd
```
