### Quickstart: login, enable, recall

Source: https://www.memorable.sh/doc

Quickstart commands to sign in, enable write consent, and recall a procedure. The login command opens a browser and approves the machine; nothing is stored before the enable command.

```bash
npx memorable-cli@latest login
```

```bash
memorable enable
```

```bash
memorable recall "fix the tests"
```

--------------------------------

### Install without node or npm

Source: https://www.memorable.sh/doc

Install Memorable on a machine without node or npm using the install script, then run memorable login.

```bash
curl -fsSL https://memorable.sh/install.sh | sh
```

```bash
# then: memorable login
```

--------------------------------

### Response 200 from /v1/extract

Source: https://www.memorable.sh/doc

Example 200 response from POST /v1/extract, containing a draft procedure with title, schema version, steps, postconditions, and embedding fields.

```json
{
  "draft": {
    "title": "Rotate the TLS cert",
    "schema_version": "1.0.0",
    "steps": [
      {
        "seq": 1,
        "action": "shell",
        "activity_class": "execute",
        "command": "certbot renew",
        "repeat_count": 1
      }
    ],
    "postconditions": [
      "final command exited
successfully: certbot renew"
    ],
    "embedding": [],
    "embedding_model": ""
  },
  "request_id": "82886df0-..."
}
```

--------------------------------

### POST /v1/extract with curl

Source: https://www.memorable.sh/doc

POST to /v1/extract with a tool-call trace to get a procedure back. Uses the MEMORABLE_API_KEY environment variable and a harness field that can be any string.

```bash
BASE=https://memorable-\
extraction-api.memorable.workers.dev
curl $BASE/v1/extract \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer \
$MEMORABLE_API_KEY" \
  -H "Content-Type: \
application/json" \
  -d '{
    "session_id": "run-183",
    "task_description":
"rotate the TLS cert",
    "harness": "my-orchestrator",
    "tool_calls": [
      {"name": "shell",
       "input": {"command":
"certbot renew"},
       "result": {"ok": true}}
    ]
  }'
```

--------------------------------

### Recall with exact, lexical, and semantic matching

Source: https://www.memorable.sh/doc

Example recall command showing how a reworded ask still finds the procedure. The output shows exact match, lexical 0.86 hit, and semantic 0.79.

```bash
memorable recall "auth tests"
```

--------------------------------

### Configure storage backend with memorable init

Source: https://www.memorable.sh/doc

Commands to configure the storage backend: this machine, a gbrain database, or QM Postgres. The default backend is a standalone local store; on a machine running gbrain you can point it at your own database with memorable init gbrain afterwards.

```bash
memorable init this machine
```

```bash
memorable init gbrain your gbrain db
```

```bash
memorable init qm QM postgres
```

--------------------------------

### Connect this machine: login and enable

Source: https://www.memorable.sh/doc

Connect this machine: the login command opens a browser and approves the machine; the enable command gives explicit write consent, and nothing is stored before this.

```bash
npx memorable-cli@latest login
```

```bash
memorable enable
```

--------------------------------

### Store, recall, show, and list procedures

Source: https://www.memorable.sh/doc

Store a procedure from a trace, recall it, show a specific procedure by slug, and list all stored procedures. The show command uses guarded, injection-safe rendering; list shows everything stored, newest first.

```bash
memorable ingest trace.json
```

```bash
memorable recall "rotate the TLS cert"
```

```bash
memorable show <slug>
```

```bash
# guarded, injection-safe rendering
```

```bash
memorable list
```

```bash
# everything stored, newest first
```

--------------------------------

### Measured recall vs no recall results

Source: https://www.memorable.sh/doc

Measured results comparing recall vs no recall: 19% fewer agent turns (replicated), every run passed, injected size about 293 tokens, and 0% turns versus a 15,593-token skill.

```text
agent turns   -19%, replicated
pass rate     every run passed
injected size ~293 tokens
vs a 15,593-token skill: 0% turns
```

--------------------------------

### Add memorable to AGENTS.md

Source: https://www.memorable.sh/doc

Append the drop-in file to AGENTS.md so a coding agent can use memorable. Every step is a plain CLI call the agent can run itself.

```bash
memorable agents-md >> AGENTS.md
```
