### Marta Favorites Configuration Example

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/navigation/favorites

An example configuration file demonstrating how to define favorite locations, separators, and grouped directories in Marta. It showcases the use of path variables like `${user.downloads}` for dynamic path resolution.

```text
Home "~"
Downloads "${user.downloads}"
Documents "${user.documents}"
Desktop "${user.desktop}"
Library "${user.library}"
Applications "${all.applications}"
Separator1 null
Work {
    Projects "~/Work/Projects"
    UX "~/Work/UX"
    Contracts {
        Payments "~/Work/Contracts/Payments"
        Other "~/Work/Contracts/Other"
    }
}
"Hobby Projects" {
    Embroidery "~/Documents/Embroidery"
    Podcasts "~/Podcasts"
}
```

### Set Up Marta Terminal Integration

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/advanced/cli

Provides the command to create a symbolic link for the Marta launcher, enabling its use from the terminal. This requires administrator privileges and assumes Marta is installed in the Applications folder.

```bash
ln -s /Applications/Marta.app/Contents/Resources/launcher /usr/local/bin/marta
```

--------------------------------

### Open Directories with Marta CLI

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/advanced/cli

Demonstrates how to use the Marta command-line interface to open the current directory or multiple directories side by side. No external dependencies are required beyond the Marta application being installed.

```bash
marta .
```

```bash
marta some ~/other
```

### Configure Theme and Table Icon Size in Marta

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/configuration/editor

This example shows how to configure both the theme and table icon size in Marta. It illustrates how to add multiple settings within the same configuration section. Note that values specified in your configuration overwrite the defaults.

```marco
behavior {
    theme "Classic"
    table {
        iconSize 24
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Quick Select Prefix Matching

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/navigation/base

This configuration snippet changes the default matching behavior of the Quick Select feature from word boundaries to prefix matching. This means that matching will occur only at the beginning of the file name. It is part of the quickSelect settings.

```toml
behavior {
    quickSelect {
        matchOnlyPrefix true
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Unset Default Key Binding

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/configuration/hotkeys

This example demonstrates how to remove or 'unset' a default key binding, such as for the 'F5' key, by assigning 'null' to it. This prevents the default action from being triggered.

```marta-config
keyBindings {
    "F5" null
}
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Default Terminal Application

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/navigation/base

This configuration snippet sets the default terminal application that Marta will use when the 'Open External Terminal Here' action is triggered. Supported values include 'Terminal' and 'iTerm'. This is part of the environment settings.

```toml
environment {
    terminal "iTerm"
}
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Circular Selection Behavior

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/navigation/base

This configuration snippet enables circular selection in the table view, allowing navigation to wrap around from the last item to the first and vice-versa. It is part of the behavior settings for the table component.

```toml
behavior {
    table {
        circularSelection true
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Right-Click Selection Behavior

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/navigation/base

This configuration snippet enables right-click selection for files in the table view. Instead of opening a context menu, a right-click will invert the selection state of the file. A long right-click is required to access the context menu. This is part of the behavior settings for the table component.

```toml
behavior {
    table {
        rightClickSelect true
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Executable Launcher Gadget

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/advanced/gadgets

This snippet shows how to configure an executable launcher gadget in conf.json. It includes the gadget's ID, name, type, the executable path, and arguments. The `args` can include variables like `${active.selection.paths}` to pass selected items, and `workingDirectory` can be set to specify the execution context. Both `args` and `workingDirectory` are optional.

```json
gadgets [
    {
        id "gadget.action.my.executable.runner"
        name "My Executable Runner"
        type "executable"
        executable "/bin/command"
        args ["${active.selection.paths}", "--some-option"]
        workingDirectory "${user.home}"
    }
]
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Application Launcher Gadget

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/advanced/gadgets

This snippet demonstrates how to define an application launcher gadget in conf.json. It specifies the gadget's ID, name, type, the application to run, and optionally, files to pass as arguments. The `${active.selection.paths}` variable allows passing selected file paths to the application.

```json
gadgets [
    {
        id "gadget.action.my.application.runner"
        name "My Application Runner"
        type "application"
        application "Application Name"
        "files" [ "${active.selection.paths}" ]
    }
]
```

### Marta CLI Options for Tab/Window Management

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/advanced/cli

Illustrates the command-line options available for the Marta launcher to control how directories are opened. These options affect whether a new tab/window is created or an existing one is reused.

```bash
marta --existing-tab .
```

```bash
marta --new-window .
```

--------------------------------

### Open Home Directory with Alt+H

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/configuration/hotkeys

This key binding associates the 'Alt+H' key combination with the action to open the home directory. The '~' symbol represents the user's home directory.

```marta-config
keyBindings {
    "Alt+H" {
        id "core.open.directory"
        src "~"
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Quick Select Activation

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/configuration/hotkeys

This setting modifies the behavior of Quick Select, ensuring it only activates when the '/' key is pressed, preventing accidental activation on any character input.

```marta-config
behavior {
	quickSelect {
        activateOnAnyCharacter true
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Date, Time, and Size Formats

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/core/columns

This configuration block allows customization of date, time, and size display formats. It supports relative dates, custom date and time formats using BSD-style specifiers, and various size format options.

```configuration
behavior {
    relativeDate true
    dateFormat {
        normal "%-d %b %Y"
    }
    timeFormat {
        separator " at "
        normal "%-H:%M"
    }
    sizeFormat "adaptive"
}
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Arrow Key Navigation

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/configuration/hotkeys

This configuration sets the 'Right' arrow key to open the selected directory and the 'Left' arrow key to navigate to the parent directory. These actions are identified by 'core.open.directory' and 'core.go.up' respectively.

```marta-config
keyBindings {
    "Left" { id "core.go.up" }
    "Right" { id "core.open.directory" }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Configure Table Icon Size in Marta

Source: https://marta.sh/docs/configuration/editor

```marco
behavior {
    table {
        iconSize 24
    }
}
```
