### Start TLP and apply power saving settings

Source: https://linrunner.de/tlp/faq/operation.html

Use 'tlp start' to manually start TLP and apply power saving settings. This is the correct way to start or restart TLP after installation or configuration changes. Ensure TLP_ENABLE=1 is configured and systemd service units are enabled; 'tlp-stat -s' will indicate if they are not.

```bash
tlp start
```

--------------------------------

### Install TLP from source

Source: https://linrunner.de/tlp/developers/source.html

Installs TLP from source using make install and install-man. The comment advises to save the complete output for reference.

```bash
# Please copy and save the complete output for further reference
sudo make install install-man
```

--------------------------------

### Install TLP from source with make install

Source: https://linrunner.de/tlp/installation/others.html

Run as root to install TLP and its man pages. Depending on the distribution, make install might not produce a working installation; check Makefile options to adapt if necessary.

```bash
make install install-man
```

--------------------------------

### Enable TLP service

Source: https://linrunner.de/tlp/installation/arch.html

Enable and start the TLP service using systemctl. Required to complete the installation.

```bash
sudo systemctl enable --now tlp.service
```

--------------------------------

### Sample configuration: START_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT0 and STOP_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT0

```ini
CPU_SCALING_GOVERNOR_ON_SAV=powersave
```

--------------------------------

### Set up TLP repository

Source: https://linrunner.de/tlp/installation/fedora.html

Add the TLP repository to get the latest version if not available in official Fedora repositories. Only needed after a clean Fedora installation, not after release upgrades.

```bash
sudo dnf install "https://repo.linrunner.de/fedora/tlp/repos/releases/tlp-release.fc$(rpm -E %fedora).noarch.rpm"
```

--------------------------------

### Install akmod-tp_smapi from tlp-updates-testing

Source: https://linrunner.de/tlp/installation/fedora.html

Install the packages from the tlp-updates-testing repository, where new packages are available first.

```bash
sudo dnf --enablerepo=tlp-updates-testing install kernel-devel akmod-tp_smapi
```

--------------------------------

### Set charge thresholds for main and secondary battery

Source: https://linrunner.de/tlp/settings/battery.html

Configuration example for START_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT0/1 and STOP_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT0/1. Charging starts below the start threshold and stops at or above the stop threshold. Both thresholds must be specified; use 0 to skip one. Disabled by default; remove leading # to enable.

START_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT0=75
STOP_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT0=80

START_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT1=75
STOP_CHARGE_THRESH_BAT1=80
```
--------------------------------
### Install RPM Fusion free repository
Source: https://linrunner.de/tlp/installation/fedora.html
