### create_project

Source: https://docs.lilys.ai/en/mcp-server/tools

Registers one source and starts analysing it. This is what costs you.

```APIDOC
## create_project
### Description
Registers one source and starts analysing it. This is what costs you.
### Method
MCP Tool Call
### Endpoint
create_project
### Parameters
#### Request Body
- **source** (string) - Required - The source to analyse. Can be a URL (for links) or an upload slot id returned by `prepare_upload`.
### Response
#### Success Response
- **project_id** (string) - The id of the created project.
### Notes
- This is the operation that costs you.
- For local files, use the id returned by `prepare_upload` as the source.
- For links, pass the URL directly.
```

### Install Lily's MCP server via plugin

Source: https://docs.lilys.ai/en/mcp-server/connect/claude-code

Use these commands inside Claude Code to install the plugin, which installs the same server along with its skill. After installation, run `/mcp` to sign in.

```claude
/plugin marketplace add teamlilysai/lilysai-plugin
/plugin install lilysai@lilysai
```

--------------------------------

### Install plugin in Codex

Source: https://docs.lilys.ai/en/plugin

Adds the plugin marketplace, installs the plugin, and logs in via MCP. The plugin ships a manifest, so no separate 'codex mcp add' step is needed.

```bash
codex plugin marketplace add teamlilysai/lilysai-plugin
codex plugin add lilysai@lilysai
codex mcp login lilysai
```

### Prompt to paste to an agent for LilysAI MCP setup

Source: https://docs.lilys.ai/en/mcp-server

Paste this prompt to an agent to set up the LilysAI MCP server automatically. It instructs the agent to configure the remote server and ask you to approve the browser login.

```text
Connect me to my LilysAI account over MCP so you can make notes from the
links and files I give you, and read the notes I already have.
Server (remote, streamable HTTP):
https://mcp.lilys.ai/mcp
It uses OAuth — I will be asked to sign in to LilysAI and approve
access the first time. There is no API key.
Set it up, then tell me to approve the browser login.
```

--------------------------------

### prepare_upload

Source: https://docs.lilys.ai/en/mcp-server/tools

Gets an upload slot for a local file. Use the id it returns as a source.

```APIDOC
## prepare_upload
### Description
Gets an upload slot for a local file. Use the id it returns as a source.
### Method
MCP Tool Call
### Endpoint
prepare_upload
### Parameters
#### Request Body
- **file** (file) - Required - The local file to upload. Supported extensions: pdf, docx, pptx, ppt, hwp, hwpx, jpg, jpeg, png, mp4, mov, webm, mp3, m4a, wav. Anything else returns `invalid_request` before uploading a byte.
### Response
#### Success Response
- **upload_slot_id** (string) - The id to use as a source in `create_project`.
### Notes
- A local file takes two calls: `prepare_upload` returns an upload slot; put the file there, then hand the id it gave you to `create_project` as its source.
- Links do not need this. Pass the URL straight to `create_project`.
- The extension decides how the file is read, so keep the real one on the name.
- Plain text is not a file here. Paste it as a text source instead.
- Spreadsheets are not accepted over MCP.
```
