Ensure the pixel format passed to dmtxImageCreate matches the actual pixel data to avoid issues with barcode region detection. Use DmtxPack32bppRGBX for 32 bits per pixel RGB data.

```c
dmtxImageCreate(pxl, 640, 480, DmtxPack24bppRGB); /* Should have used DmtxPack32bppRGBX */
```

### Decode Data Matrix from Bitmap in C#

Source: http://libdmtx.wikidot.com/libdmtx-net-wrapper

Use this snippet to decode Data Matrix codes from a Bitmap image. It iterates through the results, extracts the ASCII data, and prints it to the console. Ensure you have a 'bitmap.png' file available.

```csharp
// C# Example
Libdmtx.DecodeOptions o = new Libdmtx.DecodeOptions();
Bitmap b = new Bitmap(@"bitmap.png");
Libdmtx.DmtxDecoded[] res = Dmtx.Decode(b, o);
for (uint i = 0; i < res.Length; i++)
{
  string str = Encoding.ASCII.GetString(res[i].Data).TrimEnd('\0');
  Console.WriteLine("Code " + i + ": " + str);
}
```

### DmtxImage Structure Definition

Source: http://libdmtx.wikidot.com/data-structures

Defines the DmtxImage structure used to hold image properties and pixel data for barcode processing. This structure is central to how libdmtx manages image information.

```c
typedef struct DmtxImage_struct {
   int             width;
   int             height;
   int             pixelPacking;
   int             bitsPerPixel;
   int             bytesPerPixel;
   int             rowPadBytes;
   int             rowSizeBytes;
   int             imageFlip;
   int             channelCount;
   int             channelStart[4];
   int             bitsPerChannel[4];
   unsigned char  *pxl;
} DmtxImage;
```

### Set Square Deviation Tolerance

Source: http://libdmtx.wikidot.com/helpful-tips

Allows specifying the allowed non-squareness of barcode corners in degrees. Lower values are suitable for faxing and flatbed scanning, while higher values accommodate distortion from cell phones or webcams.

```bash
-q, --square-deviation=N   Allowed non-squareness of corners in degrees (0-90)
```

--------------------------------

### Set Edge Strength Threshold

Source: http://libdmtx.wikidot.com/helpful-tips

Ignores weak edges below a specified threshold. Lowering this value can increase scanned features (slowing performance) but may be necessary for blurry or low-contrast images. It can sometimes improve performance by allowing the reader to find a barcode candidate sooner.

```bash
-t, --threshold=N          Ignore weak edges below threshold N (1-100)
```

### Omit Trailing Newline with '\c' Escape Sequence

Source: http://libdmtx.wikidot.com/helpful-tips

Illustrates an alternative syntax using the '\c' escape sequence with 'echo' to omit the trailing newline, confirmed by 'od -c'.

```bash
$ echo 'Hello, world!\c' | od -c
0000000    H   e   l   l   o   ,       w   o   r   l   d   !
0000015
```

### Define Image Scan Region

Source: http://libdmtx.wikidot.com/helpful-tips

Specifies a rectangular region within the image to scan, optimizing performance by avoiding unnecessary processing of unused areas. Options include minimum and maximum X and Y ranges, which can be specified in pixels or percentages.

```bash
-x, --x-range-min=N[%]     Do not scan pixels to the left of N (or N%)
```

```bash
-X, --x-range-max=N[%]     Do not scan pixels to the right of N (or N%)
```

```bash
-y, --y-range-min=N[%]     Do not scan pixels above N (or N%)
```

```bash
-Y, --y-range-max=N[%]     Do not scan pixels below N (or N%)
```

### DmtxDecode Structure Definition

Source: http://libdmtx.wikidot.com/data-structures

Defines the structure for decoding parameters and internal state when processing an image to find Data Matrix codes. Includes options for edge detection, scanning, and image region of interest.

```c
typedef struct DmtxDecode_struct {
   /* Options */
   int             edgeMin;
   int             edgeMax;
   int             scanGap;
   double          squareDevn;
   int             sizeIdxExpected;
   int             edgeThresh;
   /* Image modifiers */
   int             xMin;
   int             xMax;
   int             yMin;
   int             yMax;
   int             scale;
   /* Internals */
   unsigned char  *cache;
   DmtxImage      *image;
   DmtxScanGrid    grid;
} DmtxDecode;
```

### Omit Trailing Newline with 'echo -n'

Source: http://libdmtx.wikidot.com/helpful-tips

Shows how to use the '-n' option with 'echo' to prevent the output of a trailing newline character, verified with 'od -c'.

```bash
$ echo -n 'Hello, world!' | od -c
0000000   H   e   l   l   o   ,       w   o   r   l   d   !
0000015
```

### DmtxMessage Structure Definition

Source: http://libdmtx.wikidot.com/data-structures

Defines the DmtxMessage structure, which holds information about a Data Matrix message, including its size, encoded data, and decoded output.

```c
typedef struct DmtxMessage_struct {
   size_t          arraySize;     /* mappingRows * mappingCols */
   size_t          codeSize;      /* Size of encoded data (data words + error words) */
   size_t          outputSize;    /* Size of buffer used to hold decoded data */
   int             outputIdx;     /* Internal index used to store output progress */
   int             padCount;
   unsigned char  *array;         /* Pointer to internal representation of Data Matrix modules */
   unsigned char  *code;          /* Pointer to internal storage of code words (data and error) */
   unsigned char  *output;        /* Pointer to internal storage of decoded output */
} DmtxMessage;
