### Running Raw SQL Queries in Laravel

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/database

Provides examples of executing raw SQL queries using the `DB` facade, including SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE, and general statements. It emphasizes parameter binding for security against SQL injection and illustrates accessing results as `stdClass` objects.

```php
<?php
namespace App\Http\Controllers;
use App\Http\Controllers\Controller;
use Illuminate\Support\Facades\DB;
class UserController extends Controller
{
    /**
     * Show a list of all of the application's users.
     *
     * @return Response
     */
    public function index()
    {
        // Running a select query with positional bindings
        $users = DB::select('select * from users where active = ?', [1]);
        // Accessing results
        foreach ($users as $user) {
            echo $user->name;
        }
        // Running a select query with named bindings
        $results = DB::select('select * from users where id = :id', ['id' => 1]);
        // Running an insert statement
        DB::insert('insert into users (id, name) values (?, ?)', [1, 'Dayle']);
        // Running an update statement
        $affected = DB::update('update users set votes = 100 where name = ?', ['John']);
        // Running a delete statement
        $deleted = DB::delete('delete from users');
        // Running a general statement (e.g., DDL)
        DB::statement('drop table users');
        return view('user.index', ['users' => $users]);
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Create New Laravel Project with Composer

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/index

### Basic PHPUnit Test Example in Laravel

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/testing

An example of a simple unit test class written for PHPUnit within a Laravel application. This test verifies a basic assertion. It relies on the PHPUnit framework and the Laravel testing environment.

```php
<?php
namespace Tests\Unit;
use PHPUnit\Framework\TestCase;
class ExampleTest extends TestCase
{
    /**
     * A basic test example.
     *
     * @return void
     */
    public function testBasicTest()
    {
        $this->assertTrue(true);
    }
}
```

--------------------------------

### Listening for Query Events in Laravel

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/database

Shows how to use the `DB::listen` method to capture and process every SQL query executed by the application. This is useful for logging or debugging purposes and is typically registered within a service provider.

```php
<?php
namespace App\Providers;
use Illuminate\Support\Facades\DB;
use Illuminate\Support\ServiceProvider;
class AppServiceProvider extends ServiceProvider
{
    /**
     * Register any application services.
     *
     * @return void
     */
    public function register()
    {
        //
    }
    /**
     * Bootstrap any application services.
     *
     * @return void
     */
    public function boot()
    {
        DB::listen(function ($query) {
            // $query->sql contains the SQL query executed
            // $query->bindings contains the bindings for the query
            // $query->time contains the execution time in milliseconds
        });
    }
}
```

### Create or Find Eloquent Models (PHP)

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent

Uses `firstOrCreate` to retrieve a model or create it if it doesn't exist, optionally with additional attributes. Uses `firstOrNew` to retrieve a model or instantiate a new one if it doesn't exist, requiring a manual save.

```PHP
<?php
// Retrieve flight by name, or create it if it doesn't exist...
$flight = App\Flight::firstOrCreate(['name' => 'Flight 10']);
// Retrieve flight by name, or create it with the name, delayed, and arrival_time attributes...
$flight = App\Flight::firstOrCreate(
    ['name' => 'Flight 10'],
    ['delayed' => 1, 'arrival_time' => '11:30']
);
// Retrieve by name, or instantiate...
$flight = App\Flight::firstOrNew(['name' => 'Flight 10']);
// Retrieve by name, or instantiate with the name, delayed, and arrival_time attributes...
$flight = App\Flight::firstOrNew(
    ['name' => 'Flight 10'],
    ['delayed' => 1, 'arrival_time' => '11:30']
);
```

--------------------------------

### Retrieve All Eloquent Models

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent

Use the `all` method on an Eloquent model to retrieve all records from its associated database table. The result is an `IlluminateDatabaseEloquentCollection` of model instances.

```php
<?php
$flights = App\Flight::all();
foreach ($flights as $flight) {
    echo $flight->name;
}
```

            - run: php artisan key:generate
            - run: php artisan dusk:chrome-driver
            - run: npm install
            - run: npm run production
            - run: vendor/bin/phpunit

            - run:
                name: Start Chrome Driver
                command: ./vendor/laravel/dusk/bin/chromedriver-linux
                background: true

            - run:
                name: Run Laravel Server
                command: php artisan serve
                background: true

            - run:
                name: Run Laravel Dusk Tests
                command: php artisan dusk

            - store_artifacts:
                path: tests/Browser/screenshots
```
--------------------------------
### Replicate Model Instance (PHP)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Create an unsaved copy of an existing model instance using the `replicate` method. This is useful for creating new records that share most attributes with an existing one, requiring only minor modifications before saving.
```php
<?php

namespace App;

use Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Model;

class Address extends Model
{
    // ...
}

// Replicate and modify a model:
$shipping = App\Address::create([
    'type' => 'shipping',
    'line_1' => '123 Example Street',
    'city' => 'Victorville',
    'state' => 'CA',
    'postcode' => '90001',
]);

$billing = $shipping->replicate()->fill([
    'type' => 'billing'
]);

$billing->save();

```
--------------------------------
### Handle Model Not Found Exceptions with findOrFail/firstOrFail (PHP)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
This code demonstrates how to use the findOrFail and firstOrFail methods to retrieve Eloquent models. If a model is not found, an Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\ModelNotFoundException is thrown, which automatically results in a 404 HTTP response if not caught. This simplifies error handling for missing resources.
```PHP
<?php

use App\Flight;

// Retrieve a model by its primary key or throw an exception if not found
$flight = Flight::findOrFail(1);

// Retrieve the first model matching criteria or throw an exception if not found
$flight = Flight::where('legs', '>', 100)->firstOrFail();

// Example within a route
Route::get('/api/flights/{id}', function ($id) {
    return Flight::findOrFail($id);
});
```
--------------------------------
### Retrieve First Eloquent Model or Execute Callback (PHP)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
The `firstOr` method retrieves the first Eloquent model matching the query or executes a given callback if no results are found. The result of the callback is then returned. It can also accept an array of columns to retrieve.
```PHP
$model = App\Flight::where('legs', '>', 100)->firstOr(function () {
    // ...
});

$model = App\Flight::where('legs', '>', 100)
            ->firstOr(['id', 'legs'], function () {
                // ...
            });
```
--------------------------------
### Configure SQLite Database Connection
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/database
This snippet shows how to configure a SQLite database connection in Laravel by setting environment variables. It specifies the database driver and the absolute path to the SQLite database file. It also demonstrates how to enable foreign key constraints for SQLite.
```env
DB_CONNECTION=sqlite
DB_DATABASE=/absolute/path/to/database.sqlite
DB_FOREIGN_KEYS=true
```
--------------------------------
### Create Laravel Test Case using Artisan
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/testing
This command generates a new test class file within the Laravel application. It supports creating tests in either the 'Feature' or 'Unit' directories. No external dependencies are required beyond the Laravel CLI.
```bash

```bash
composer require laravel/ui --dev
php artisan ui vue --auth
```

--------------------------------

### Eloquent Subquery Ordering for Sorting (PHP)

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent

Employ subqueries within the `orderBy` function to sort records based on related data in a single database query. This example sorts destinations by the arrival time of their last flight.

```PHP
return Destination::orderByDesc(
    Flight::select('arrived_at')
        ->whereColumn('destination_id', 'destinations.id')
        ->orderBy('arrived_at', 'desc')
        ->limit(1)
)->get();
```

--------------------------------

### Install Laravel Telescope

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/telescope

Install Telescope using Composer and publish its assets with the `telescope:install` Artisan command. Run migrations to set up the database tables.

```bash
composer require laravel/telescope:^3.0
php artisan telescope:install
php artisan migrate
```

--------------------------------

### Eloquent Subquery Selects for Related Data (PHP)

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent

Utilize subqueries within `select` and `addSelect` methods to retrieve data from related tables in a single query. This example selects destinations and the name of the most recently arrived flight for each.

```PHP
use App\Destination;
use App\Flight;
return Destination::addSelect(['last_flight' => Flight::select('name')
    ->whereColumn('destination_id', 'destinations.id')
    ->orderBy('arrived_at', 'desc')
    ->limit(1)
])->get();
```

--------------------------------

### Update String and Array Helper Usage to Classes

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/upgrade

String and array helpers have been moved to the `laravel/helpers` package. You can either install this package or update your code to use `Illuminate\Support\Str` and `Illuminate\Support\Arr` classes. This example shows how to clear compiled views after updating.

```bash
# Install the helpers package
composer require laravel/helpers
# Or update your code to use class-based methods
# Clear compiled views after updating
php artisan view:clear
```

--------------------------------

### Launch and Manage Vagrant Box

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/homestead

Commands to start, provision, and destroy the Vagrant virtual machine for Laravel Homestead. `vagrant up` boots the machine and applies configurations, while `vagrant destroy` removes it.

```bash
vagrant up
```

```bash
vagrant reload --provision
```

```bash
vagrant destroy --force
```

--------------------------------

### Update an Existing Eloquent Model (PHP)

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent

This example demonstrates updating a model that already exists in the database. The model is first retrieved using a method like find(), then its attributes are modified, and finally, the save() method is called. Eloquent automatically updates the 'updated_at' timestamp.

```PHP
<?php
use App\Flight;
// Retrieve an existing model
$flight = Flight::find(1);
// Update attributes
$flight->name = 'New Flight Name';
// Save the changes
$flight->save();
```

--------------------------------

### Installing Supervisor on Ubuntu

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/horizon

Command to install Supervisor, a process control system that helps manage and restart the Horizon process if it fails.

```bash
sudo apt-get install supervisor
```

--------------------------------

### Update Email Verification Resend Route to POST

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/upgrade

The email verification resend route has changed from GET to POST to prevent CSRF attacks. Frontend applications must be updated to send POST requests to the `verification.resend` route. This example shows the updated form structure using Blade.

```html
<form class="d-inline" method="POST" action="{{ route('verification.resend') }}">
    @csrf
    <button type="submit" class="btn btn-link p-0 m-0 align-baseline">
        {{ __('click here to request another') }}
    </button>.
</form>
```

--------------------------------

### Nginx Configuration for Pretty URLs in Laravel

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/index

This Nginx configuration directive ensures that all incoming requests to a Laravel application are directed to the index.php front controller, enabling pretty URLs. It's commonly used in server block configurations. This setup is automatically handled when using Homestead or Valet.

```nginx
location / {
    try_files $uri $uri/ /index.php?$query_string;
}
```

--------------------------------

### Starting and Updating Supervisor Processes

```bash
php artisan dusk:chrome-driver --all
```

--------------------------------

### Query Eloquent Models with Constraints

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent

Chain query builder methods like `where`, `orderBy`, and `take` to an Eloquent model query before calling `get` to retrieve specific results. This allows for complex filtering and ordering of data.

```php
$flights = App\Flight::where('active', 1)
               ->orderBy('name', 'desc')
               ->take(10)
               ->get();
```

--------------------------------

### Share Local Site via Ngrok

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/valet

Allows sharing a local Valet-served site with the world using ngrok. Navigate to the site's directory and run the command. A public URL will be copied to your clipboard. Press Control+C to stop sharing. Additional ngrok parameters can be passed.

```bash
valet share
valet share --region=eu
```

--------------------------------

### Manually Control Database Transactions in Laravel

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/database

Provides manual control over database transactions. Use `beginTransaction` to start, `rollBack` to undo changes, and `commit` to finalize changes. This is useful for complex transaction logic.

```php
DB::beginTransaction();
// Perform database operations...
DB::rollBack();
// Or
DB::commit();
```

--------------------------------

### Laravel Facade and Helper Function Equivalence

Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/facades

Demonstrates how to achieve the same result using both a Laravel facade and a corresponding helper function. The example shows creating a view, highlighting that there's no practical difference between the two approaches.

```php
return View::make('profile');
```

```php
return view('profile');
```

--------------------------------

    'driver' => 'ftp',
    'host' => 'ftp.example.com',
    'username' => 'your-username',
    'password' => 'your-password',

    // Optional FTP Settings...
    // 'port' => 21,
    // 'root' => '',
    // 'passive' => true,
    // 'ssl' => true,
    // 'timeout' => 30,
],
```
--------------------------------
### Interact with Redis using Laravel Facade (GET Command)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/redis
Demonstrates how to retrieve a value from Redis using the `Redis` facade's `get` method. This example shows fetching a user profile based on an ID, assuming the `Redis` facade is correctly aliased or referenced.
```php
<?php

namespace App\Http\Controllers;

use App\Http\Controllers\Controller;
use Illuminate\Support\Facades\Redis;

class UserController extends Controller
{
    /**
     * Show the profile for the given user.
     *
     * @param  int  $id
     * @return Response
     */
    public function showProfile($id)
    {
        $user = Redis::get('user:profile:'.$id);

        return view('user.profile', ['user' => $user]);
    }
}
```
### Configure Multiple Read/Write Database Connections
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/database
This configuration example shows how to set up separate database connections for read and write operations in Laravel. It defines a 'mysql' connection with distinct 'read' and 'write' host configurations, allowing Laravel to use specific servers for SELECT queries versus INSERT, UPDATE, and DELETE statements. The 'sticky' option ensures that the 'write' connection is used for all subsequent queries within a request if a 'write' operation has already occurred.
```php
'mysql' => [
    'read' => [
        'host' => [
            '192.168.1.1',
            '196.168.1.2',
        ],
    ],
    'write' => [
        'host' => [
            '196.168.1.3',
         ],
    ],
    'sticky'    => true,
    'driver'    => 'mysql',
    'database'  => 'database',
    'username'  => 'root',
    'password'  => '',
    'charset'   => 'utf8mb4',
    'collation' => 'utf8mb4_unicode_ci',
    'prefix'    => '',
],
```
--------------------------------
```php
<?php

namespace Tests\Browser;

use App\User;
use Illuminate\Foundation\Testing\DatabaseMigrations;
use Laravel\Dusk\Chrome;
use Tests\DuskTestCase;

class ExampleTest extends DuskTestCase
{
    use DatabaseMigrations;

    /**
     * A basic browser test example.
     *
     * @return void
     */
    public function testBasicExample()
    {
        $user = factory(User::class)->create([
            'email' => 'taylor@laravel.com',
        ]);

        $this->browse(function ($browser) use ($user) {
            $browser->visit('/login')
                    ->type('email', $user->email)
                    ->type('password', 'password')
                    ->press('Login')
                    ->assertPathIs('/home');
        });
    }
}
```
--------------------------------
### Check if Eloquent Model is Soft Deleted (PHP)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Determines if a model instance has been soft deleted by checking its `deleted_at` attribute using the `trashed` method.
```PHP
<?php

if ($flight->trashed()) {
    // Model has been soft deleted
}

```
--------------------------------
### Install SFTP Driver (Composer)
### Manipulate Eloquent Collections
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Use the methods provided by `IlluminateDatabaseEloquentCollection` to manipulate collections of Eloquent model results, such as filtering with `reject` or iterating like an array.
```php
$flights = $flights->reject(function ($flight) {
    return $flight->cancelled;
});

foreach ($flights as $flight) {
    echo $flight->name;
}
```
--------------------------------
### Install Laravel Horizon (Composer)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/horizon
Installs the Laravel Horizon package into your project using Composer. Ensure your queue connection is set to 'redis' in your queue configuration file before installation.
```bash
composer require laravel/horizon ~3.0
```
--------------------------------
### Install Socket.IO Client with NPM
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/broadcasting
Installs the Socket.IO JavaScript client library using NPM. This is necessary when pairing the Redis broadcaster with a Socket.IO server to enable client-side communication.
```bash
npm install --save socket.io-client
```
--------------------------------
### Delete Eloquent Model Instance (PHP)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Deletes a specific Eloquent model instance by calling the `delete` method on the retrieved model object. This action removes the record from the database.
```PHP
<?php

$flight = App\Flight::find(1);

$flight->delete();

```
--------------------------------
### Install laravel/ui and Scaffold Authentication Routes & Views
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/authentication
This snippet shows how to install the laravel/ui Composer package and use its command to scaffold authentication related routes and views. This is typically used for fresh Laravel applications to quickly set up registration, login, and dashboard features. It requires Composer and Artisan CLI.
```bash
composer require laravel/ui "^1.0" --dev

php artisan ui vue --auth
```
--------------------------------
### Enable Soft Deletes for Eloquent Model (PHP)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Enables soft deleting for an Eloquent model by using the `SoftDeletes` trait. This adds a `deleted_at` timestamp to records instead of removing them from the database.
```PHP
<?php

namespace App;

use Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Model;
use Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\SoftDeletes;

class Flight extends Model
{
    use SoftDeletes;
}

```
--------------------------------
### Initialize Homestead Configuration
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/homestead
These commands generate the `Homestead.yaml` configuration file. Use `init.sh` for macOS and Linux, and `init.bat` for Windows. The configuration file will be created in the Homestead directory.
```shell
// Mac / Linux...
bash init.sh
```
```shell
// Windows...
init.bat
```
--------------------------------
### Delete Eloquent Models by Query (PHP)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Performs a mass delete operation on models matching a query. This method does not fire model events and directly executes a `DELETE` SQL statement.
```PHP
<?php

$deletedRows = App\Flight::where('active', 0)->delete();

```
--------------------------------
### Specify Eloquent Database Connection
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Set the `$connection` property on your Eloquent model to specify a database connection other than the default one configured for your application. This allows models to interact with different databases.
```php
<?php

namespace App;

use IlluminateDatabaseEloquentModel;

class Flight extends Model
{
    /**
     * The connection name for the model.
     *
     * @var string
     */
    protected $connection = 'connection-name';
}
```
--------------------------------
### Install Cached Adapter (Composer)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/filesystem
Composer command to install the Flysystem cached adapter, recommended for performance improvements when working with Flysystem.
```bash
composer require league/flysystem-cached-adapter ~1.0
```
--------------------------------
### Switch PHP Versions with Valet
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/valet
Enables switching between different PHP versions for your Valet-served sites. Valet will install the specified version via Brew if it's not already present. Note that Valet only serves one PHP version at a time.
```bash
valet use php@version
valet use php
```
--------------------------------
### Add `deleted_at` Column for Soft Deletes (PHP)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Adds the `deleted_at` column to a database table using Laravel's schema builder, which is necessary for Eloquent's soft deleting functionality.
```PHP
<?php

use Illuminate\Database\Migrations\Migration;
use Illuminate\Database\Schema\Blueprint;
use Illuminate\Support\Facades\Schema;

return new class extends Migration
{
    public function up()
    {
        Schema::table('flights', function (Blueprint $table) {
            $table->softDeletes();
        });
    }
};

```
--------------------------------
### Starting and Managing Laravel Horizon Processes
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/horizon
Commands to start, pause, continue, check status, and terminate the Horizon process. These are essential for managing your queue workers.
```bash
php artisan horizon
php artisan horizon:pause
php artisan horizon:continue
php artisan horizon:status
php artisan horizon:terminate
```
--------------------------------
### Consume Laravel API with Axios in JavaScript
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/passport
Example of making a GET request to the `/api/user` endpoint using Axios in a JavaScript application. After configuring the `CreateFreshApiToken` middleware, Axios can automatically use the `laravel_token` cookie for authentication on same-origin requests.
```javascript
axios.get('/api/user')
    .then(response => {
        console.log(response.data);
    });
```
--------------------------------
### Enable XHGui Profiling for CLI Requests
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/homestead
Profile CLI requests using XHGui by prefixing the command with 'XHGUI=on'. Profile results are accessible via the same URL as web profiles.
```bash
XHGUI=on path/to/script
```
--------------------------------
### Define Dynamic Scopes with Parameters in Laravel Eloquent
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Explains how to create local scopes that accept parameters. Additional parameters are added after the `$query` parameter in the scope method signature and can be passed when calling the scope.
```php
<?php

namespace App;

use IlluminateDatabaseEloquentModel;

class User extends Model
{
    /**
     * Scope a query to only include users of a given type.
     *
     * @param  \Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Builder  $query
     * @param  mixed  $type
     * @return \Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Builder
     */
    public function scopeOfType($query, $type)
    {
        return $query->where('type', $type);
    }
}

// Utilizing the dynamic scope
$users = App\User::ofType('admin')->get();
```
--------------------------------
### Update or Create Eloquent Model (PHP)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
The `updateOrCreate` method efficiently updates an existing model or creates a new one if no matching record is found, based on the provided attributes. It persists the model automatically.
```PHP
<?php

// If there's a flight from Oakland to San Diego, set the price to $99.
// If no matching model exists, create one.
$flight = App\Flight::updateOrCreate(
    ['departure' => 'Oakland', 'destination' => 'San Diego'],
    ['price' => 99, 'discounted' => 1]
);

```
--------------------------------
### Generate Passport Encryption Keys and Clients
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/passport
Runs the Passport installation command to generate encryption keys for secure access tokens and creates default clients (personal access and password grant).
```bash
php artisan passport:install
```
--------------------------------
### Define Basic GET Route with Closure
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/routing
Defines a simple GET route that responds to the '/foo' URI with a Closure that returns 'Hello World'. This is a fundamental way to set up routes in Laravel.
```php
Route::get('foo', function () {
    return 'Hello World';
});
```
--------------------------------
### Customize Eloquent Timestamp Column Names
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Override the `CREATED_AT` and `UPDATED_AT` constants in your Eloquent model to specify custom names for the timestamp columns used by Eloquent. This provides flexibility in database schema design.
```php
<?php

class Flight extends Model
{
    const CREATED_AT = 'creation_date';
    const UPDATED_AT = 'last_update';
}
```
--------------------------------
### Envoy Setup with PHP Variables
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/envoy
Shows how to use the @setup directive to execute PHP code before tasks, such as initializing variables like $now and $environment.
```php
@setup
    $now = new DateTime();

    $environment = isset($env) ? $env : "testing";
@endsetup
```
--------------------------------
### Disable Eloquent Timestamps
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Set the `$timestamps` property to `false` on your Eloquent model to prevent automatic management of `created_at` and `updated_at` columns. This is useful when you don't need Eloquent to handle these timestamp columns automatically.
```php
<?php

namespace App;

use IlluminateDatabaseEloquentModel;

class Flight extends Model
{
    /**
     * Indicates if the model should be timestamped.
     *
     * @var bool
     */
    public $timestamps = false;
}
```
--------------------------------
### Serve Entire Directory with Valet Park
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/valet
Configures Valet to serve all Laravel projects within a specified directory. After running 'valet park' in a directory (e.g., ~/Sites), any new Laravel site created within it will be automatically served.
```bash
mkdir ~/Sites
cd ~/Sites
valet park
laravel new blog
```
--------------------------------
### Optimize Composer Autoloader for Production
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/deployment
Command to optimize Composer's class autoloader for faster class loading in a production environment. It disables development dependencies to reduce installation size and improve performance.
```bash
composer install --optimize-autoloader --no-dev
```
--------------------------------
### Compare Eloquent Models in Laravel
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Shows how to check if two Eloquent model instances represent the same record. The `is` method provides a convenient way to compare models based on their primary key, table, and database connection.
```php
if ($post->is($anotherPost)) {
    // Models are the same
}
```
--------------------------------
### Utilize and Chain Local Scopes in Laravel Eloquent
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Demonstrates how to call defined local scopes on an Eloquent model to apply constraints. Scopes can be chained directly, and combined with other query builder methods like `orderBy`.
```php
// Utilizing and chaining scopes
$users = App\User::popular()->active()->orderBy('created_at')->get();

// Combining scopes with 'orWhere' using closures
$users = App\User::popular()->orWhere(function (Builder $query) {
    $query->active();
})->get();

// Combining scopes with higher-order 'orWhere'
$users = App\User::popular()->orWhere->active()->get();
```
--------------------------------
### Create Homestead Batch File for Windows
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/homestead
This batch script allows you to run Homestead commands from any directory by setting up the Vagrant path. It requires the Homestead installation to be at 'C:\\Homestead'. Ensure the path is correctly set and the script's location is added to your system's PATH environment variable.
```batch
@echo off

set cwd=%cd%
set homesteadVagrant=C:\\Homestead

cd /d %homesteadVagrant% && vagrant %*
cd /d %cwd%

set cwd=
set homesteadVagrant=
```
--------------------------------
### Remove Global Scopes in Laravel Eloquent
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Illustrates how to remove global scopes from queries. You can remove a specific named or closure-based global scope using `withoutGlobalScope`, or remove multiple or all global scopes using `withoutGlobalScopes`.
```php
// Remove a specific global scope by class name
User::withoutGlobalScope(AgeScope::class)->get();

// Remove a specific global scope by closure name
User::withoutGlobalScope('age')->get();

// Remove all global scopes
User::withoutGlobalScopes()->get();

// Remove multiple specific global scopes
User::withoutGlobalScopes([
    FirstScope::class, SecondScope::class
])->get();
```
--------------------------------
### Permanently Delete Models (PHP)
Source: https://laravel.com/docs/6.x/eloquent
Completely remove a soft-deleted model from the database using the `forceDelete` method. This action is irreversible and should be used when a record needs to be permanently expunged. It can be applied to individual instances or related models.
```php
<?php

namespace App;

use Illuminate\Database\Eloquent\Model;

class Flight extends Model
{
    // ...
}

// Force delete a single model instance:
$flight = App\Flight::withTrashed()->find(1);
$flight->forceDelete();

// Force delete all related models:
$flight = App\Flight::find(1);
$flight->history()->forceDelete();

```
--------------------------------
