### Install LangGraph Python Package

Source: https://langchain-ai.github.io/langgraph/index

This command installs the LangGraph library using pip, the Python package installer. The `-U` flag ensures that the package is upgraded to the latest version if already installed. This is the first step to begin developing with LangGraph.

```python
pip install -U langgraph
```

### Create a Basic LangGraph Hello World Agent in Python

Source: https://langchain-ai.github.io/langgraph/index

This Python example demonstrates how to create a minimal LangGraph agent that responds with 'hello world'. It defines a simple state graph with a single node representing a mock LLM and sets up the start and end edges. The graph is then compiled and invoked with an initial user message to show its basic functionality.

```python
from langgraph.graph import StateGraph, MessagesState, START, END
def mock_llm(state: MessagesState):
    return {"messages": [{"role": "ai", "content": "hello world"}]}
graph = StateGraph(MessagesState)
graph.add_node(mock_llm)
graph.add_edge(START, "mock_llm")
graph.add_edge("mock_llm", END)
graph = graph.compile()
graph.invoke({"messages": [{"role": "user", "content": "hi!"}]})
```
