### Example: Specifying Namespace Configurations for Parent and Child Apps (XML)

Source: https://docs.kentico.com/k12sp/integrating-3rd-party-systems/integrating-kentico-with-other-applications/child-web-application-fails-to-start

This example demonstrates how to configure namespaces differently for a parent application and a nested child application. It uses the `path` attribute in the `<location>` tag to target specific application paths and add distinct namespaces.

```XML
<!-- Configuration for 'Default Web Site' -->
<location path="Default Web Site/ParentApplication" >
    <namespaces>
        <add namespace="System.Web.Mvc" />
        <add namespace="System.Web.Mvc.Ajax" />
        <add namespace="System.Web.Mvc.Html" />
        <add namespace="System.Web.Routing" />
      </namespaces>
</location>
<!-- Configuration for 'ChildApplication' -->
<location path="Default Web Site/ParentApplication/ChildApplication" >
      <namespaces>
        <add namespace="System.IO" />
        <add namespace="System.Text" />
      </namespaces>
</location>
```

This example shows a more detailed application of breaking web.config inheritance. It illustrates how to exclude settings for `controls`, `namespaces`, `assemblies`, `modules`, and `handlers` from being inherited by child applications.

```XML
<location path="." inheritInChildApplications="false" >
    <system.web>
        <controls>
            <!-- Removed for brevity -->
        </controls>
        <namespaces>
            <!-- Removed for brevity -->
        </namespaces>
        <assemblies>
            <!-- Removed for brevity -->
        </assemblies>
    </system.web>
</location>
<location path="." inheritInChildApplications="false" >
    <system.webServer>
        <modules>
            <!-- Removed for brevity -->
        </modules>
        <handlers>
            <!-- Removed for brevity -->
        </handlers>
    </system.webServer>
</location>
```

    List<LearningProductType> products = LearningProductTypeProvider.GetLearningProductTypes()
        .LatestVersion(false)
        .Published(true)
        .OnSite(siteName)
        .Culture("en-US")
        .CombineWithDefaultCulture()
        .WhereTrue("SKUEnabled")
        .OrderByDescending("SKUInStoreFrom")
        .ToList();

    // Prepares the view model for the listing page
    var model = new ProductListViewModel(products.Select(
        product => new ProductListItemViewModel(
            product,
            GetPrice(product.SKU, shoppingService.GetCurrentShoppingCart()),
            product.Product.PublicStatus?.PublicStatusDisplayName)))
        );

    // Displays the action's view with an initialized view model
    return View(model);
}
```
```csharp
[SetUp]
public void SetUp()
{
    // Allows creating of articles without accessing the database
    Fake().DocumentType<Article>(Article.CLASS_NAME);

    // Creates a mock repository and sets a return value
    var article = TreeNode.New<Article>().With(a => a.DocumentName = "Test");
    var repository = Substitute.For<IArticleRepository>();
    repository.GetArticle(1).Returns(article);

    mController = new ArticleController(repository);
}
```
```csharp
protected void SetupControl()
{
    if (this.StopProcessing)
    {
        // Does nothing if the web part is disabled
    }
    else
    {
        this.srcUsers.WhereCondition = this.WhereCondition;
        this.srcUsers.OrderBy = this.OrderBy;

        // Sets the inner data source's name according to the web part's 'Web part control ID' property.
        // This allows listing web parts to connect to the inner control.
        // The identifier property is named 'FilterName' because data sources inherit the property from
        // a base class shared with filter objects.
        this.srcUsers.FilterName = (string)this.GetValue("WebPartControlID");

        // Connects the attached filter, as specified by the 'Filter name' property of the web part
        this.srcUsers.SourceFilterName = this.FilterName;
    }
}
```
