### Perform Ajax Request with jQuery

Source: https://jquery.com

This example shows how to make an asynchronous HTTP request using jQuery's `$.ajax` method. It sends a GET request to a local script with a query parameter and updates a specific HTML element with the server's response, wrapping the result in bold tags. Ensure the server endpoint is accessible and returns text data.

```javascript
$.ajax({
  url: "/api/getWeather",
  data: {
    zipcode: 97201
  },
  success: function( result ) {
    $( "#weather-temp" ).html( "<strong>" + result + "</strong> degrees" );
  }
});
```

### Show Hidden Element on Button Click with jQuery

Source: https://jquery.com

This snippet demonstrates event handling. It selects a container of buttons and attaches a click event listener. When any button within the container is clicked, a hidden element identified by its ID is shown. The hidden element must be initially set to `display: none;` in CSS.

```javascript
var hiddenBox = $( "#banner-message" );
$( "#button-container button" ).on( "click", function( event ) {
  hiddenBox.show();
});
```

### Manipulate HTML Content with jQuery

Source: https://jquery.com

Use this to select an element by its tag name and class, then change its inner HTML content. Ensure the element exists on the page before attempting manipulation.

```javascript
$( "button.continue" ).html( "Next Step..." )
```
