### Example: measuring elapsed time with clock()

Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zvm/7.5.0?topic=descriptions-clock-determine-processor-time

This example prints the time elapsed since the program was invoked. It calls clock() at the start and again later, dividing by CLOCKS_PER_SEC to get seconds.

```c
/*  This example prints the time elapsed since the program was invoked.  */
#include <time.h>
#include <stdio.h>
double time1, timedif;   /* use doubles to show small values */
int main(void)
{
    time1 = (double) clock();            /* get initial time */
    time1 = time1 / CLOCKS_PER_SEC;      /*    in seconds    */
⋮
    /* call clock a second time */
    timedif = ( ((double) clock()) / CLOCKS_PER_SEC) - time1;
    printf("The elapsed time is %f seconds\n", timedif);
}
```

### Run GETSHOPZ with options

Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zvm/7.5.0?topic=packages-setting-up-configuring-using-getshopz

Example of specifying options in any order, here using DISK and SECURE.

```plaintext
**getshopz run ( disk t secure**
### GETSID example: start I/O to device TAP1
Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zvm/7.5.0?topic=instructions-getsid
Shows the GETSID macro invoked with DEVNAME='TAP1' to get the SID of TAP1 in register 1, followed by an SSCH instruction to start I/O using the CCWs at location CCWS. This sequence is used before issuing the first I/O instruction.
```assembler
GETSID DEVNAME='TAP1'     * Get SID of TAP1 in R1
SSCH CCWS * Start I/O using the CCWs at loc CCWS.

### VMFINS INSTALL PPF with NOPLAN and NOMEMO - Install product

Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/zvm/7.5.0?topic=system-adding-single-product

Use this command to install the product using the PPF operand and installation parameters from PLAN processing. The ADD option puts a new copy on the system, NOPLAN installs the product, and NOMEMO skips the memo print prompt.

```plaintext
#include <stdio.h>
#define MAX_LINE 100
int main(void)
{
   char line[MAX_LINE];
