### Excel Lookup Function for Mapping Data

Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/apptio-gov/costing-standard/saas_topic=upload-map-costing-standard-foundation-data

This example demonstrates how to use the Excel Lookup function to retrieve data from a mapping table based on a specific account number. It requires a 'Chart of Accounts Mapping' table with an 'Account' column and a '{Fixed/Variable}' column to populate the 'Fixed Variable' field.

```excel
=Lookup(Account,Chart of Accounts Mapping,Account,"{Fixed/Variable}")
```

### Excel Lookup Function for Mapping Data

Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/apptio-gov/costing-standard/saas_topic=ctf-cost-source-component-install-configure

Demonstrates how to use the Excel Lookup function to populate fields in a master data table by referencing a separate mapping table. This function is useful for assigning categorical data based on an identifier, such as an account number.

```excel
=Lookup(Account,Chart of Accounts
        Mapping,Account,{Fixed/Variable})
```
