### Example CONFIG BASIC Statement

Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/apafz/15.1_topic=analyzer-started-task-configuration-settings

Provides a concrete example of a CONFIG BASIC statement, demonstrating how to set basic parameters for the Application Performance Analyzer instance. This example is based on the predefined CAZCNFG0 member.

```JCL
CONFIG BASIC                 // Basic settings:
   STCid=CAZ0                // . Application Performance Analyzer instance ID
   HLQ=CAZ0                  // . DSN high level qualifier
   UNIT=SYSDA                // . unit name for new data sets
   CheckpointDSN='.CHKP';    // . checkpoint file DSN
                             // (appended to HLQ)
```

### USSHome Configuration Example

Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/apafz/14.1_topic=settings-config-sample-statement

Provides an example for the USSHome parameter, specifying the USS directory where Application Performance Analyzer USS components are installed. This path must align with the #PathPrefix in the CAZWISMK installation job and is relevant when J9VMEnable is set to YES or 64.

```JCL
USSHome=#PathPrefix/usr/lpp/apa/v14r1m2
```

### Submitting and Scheduling Measurements via MVS START Command

Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/apafz/16.1_topic=syntax-example-new-command

Demonstrates how to use the MVS START command to schedule a new performance measurement using IBM Application Performance Analyzer for z/OS. This method allows for automated or time-based initiation of analysis jobs.

```JCL
START AZRS,JOBNAME=AZRPROC,MBR=AZRSTART,USERID=XXXXXXX,PARM='NEW,SYSTEM(SYS1),APPLID(APPL),STARTTIME(14:00),ENDTIME(15:00)'
### Copy Sample Installation Jobs using IEBCOPY
Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/apafz/16.1_topic=program-directory
This JCL job uses the IEBCOPY utility to copy sample installation jobs from a source data set to a target JCL library. It selects specific members for copying and requires the user to provide dataset names and potentially volume serials.
```JCL
//STEP1    EXEC PGM=IEBCOPY
//SYSPRINT DD SYSOUT=*
//IN       DD DSN=IBM.HAD0F10.F4,
//            DISP=SHR,
//*           VOL=SER=**filevol**,
//            UNIT=SYSALLDA
//OUT      DD DSNAME=**jcl-library-name**,
//            DISP=(NEW,CATLG,DELETE),
//            SPACE=(TRK,(20,10,5))
//*           VOL=SER=**dasdvol**,
//            UNIT=SYSALLDA
//SYSUT3   DD UNIT=SYSALLDA,SPACE=(CYL,(1,1))
//SYSIN    DD *
     COPY INDD=IN,OUTDD=OUT
     SELECT MEMBER=(CAZWSMPE,CAZWRECV,CAZWALOC,CAZWZFS)
     SELECT MEMBER=(CAZWISMK,CAZWDDEF,CAZWAPLY,CAZWACPT)
/*
```
keyword2=value2    // this is a comment
..
keywordn=valuen ;
### Delete Range of Requests using DELETE Command
Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/apafz/16.1_topic=syntax-example-delete-command
This section illustrates how to delete multiple requests using the DELETE command. It covers deleting a list of specific request numbers, a contiguous range of numbers, and a mixed list of individual and ranged numbers. A maximum of 20 REQNUM parameters is allowed.
```JCL
DELETE REQNUM=(1,12,35,76)
;
DELETE REQNUM=(654-722)
;
DELETE REQNUM=(2,5-10,84)
;

```
--------------------------------
### Delete Single Observation using DELETE Command
Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/apafz/16.1_topic=syntax-example-delete-command
This snippet shows the basic syntax for deleting a single observation using the DELETE command. It requires specifying the observation number with the REQNUM parameter. The command is terminated with a semicolon.
```JCL
DELETE REQNUM=0985
;

```
### Define DPA Table Structure using CAZDPAGN Macros (Assembly)
Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/apafz/16.1_topic=optional-example-cazdpagn-macros
Illustrates the assembly source code structure for defining a DPA table using CAZDPAGN macros. It shows how to define program groups, subgroups, and individual program entries with wildcard and exact name matching, including CICS transaction definitions. This code generates prologue code for the DPA table.
```assembly
1 	CAZUSR01   CAZDPAGN   	PROLOG
2 	CUSTOMER   CAZDPAGN   	GROUP,DESCRP='Customer Programs'
3 	CUSTOMER   CAZDPAGN   	SUBGROUP,GRP=CUSTOMER,DESCRP='Customer Programs'
4             CAZDPAGN 	NAME=SAMP*,DESCRP='CICS Samples',SUBGRP=CUSTOMER
              CAZDPAGN 	NAME=(APPL1*,APPL4*),                                     X
                 DESCRP='Batch Applications',SUBGRP=CUSTOMER,TYPE=USER
5             CAZDPAGN NAME=CICSDb2,SUBGRP=CUSTOMER,                              X
                 DESCRP='Db2 Test Program',TYPE=USER
              CAZDPAGN NAME=MQSAMP1,SUBGRP=CUSTOMER,                              X
                 DESCRP='MQ Test Program',TYPE=USER
6             CAZDPAGN NAME=TDb2,SUBGRP=CUSTOMER,                                 X
                 DESCRP='Db2 Test Trans',TYPE=CICSTXN
              CAZDPAGN NAME=MQS1,SUBGROUP=CUSTOMER,                                 X
                 DESCRP='MQ Test Trans',TYPE=CICSTXN
7             CAZDPAGN END
8             END CAZUSR01

### Example MVS START Command with Parameters

Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/apafz/14.1_topic=commands-using-mvs-start-command-schedule-new-measurement

An example of the MVS START command, demonstrating how to specify a SYSIN member (CAZNEWCI) and override job parameters (STC, JOBN) for a CICS/DB2 measurement.

```Shell
S CAZ$NEW,APARM='MEMBER=CAZNEWCI STC=CAZ0 JOBN=CICS54A’
### Specify 64-bit JVMTI Agent in JCL
Source: https://www.ibm.com/docs/en/apafz/14.2_topic=reports-using-jvmti-agent
This example shows how to specify a 64-bit JVMTI agent (libCAZJTA14.so) in JCL using BPXBATCH to run a Java program. It assumes default installation paths and a single Application Performance Analyzer started task.
```JCL
//STEP EXEC PGM=BPXBATCH,
//PARM='sh java –agentpath:/usr/lpp/apa/v14r2/libCAZJTA14.so prog’
```
