### Sample Type Prompt Using the Modulo Function

Source: https://help.seequent.com/MXDeposit/en-GB/Content/admin/formula-gallery.htm

Creates a Count column that assigns row numbers starting at 1, then uses that Count column in a sample type prompt formula. The formula prompts the logger to insert a BLANK, CRM, or DUP sample type every seventh row, based on the modulo result.

```formula
previous({Count},0)+1
```

```formula
ifThen([(({Count}/7)%3)==1,'BLANK'],[(({Count}/7)%3)==2,'CRM'],[(({Count}/7)%3)==0,'DUP'])
```

--------------------------------

### Reference Project Area Header Field

Source: https://help.seequent.com/MXDeposit/en-GB/Content/admin/formula-gallery.htm

References the Project Area header field in a formula. Use this as a basic example of how to reference a header field input.

```formula
{YourHeader.ProjectArea}
```

### Au-Equivalent Formula Using Ranked Columns

Source: https://help.seequent.com/MXDeposit/en-GB/Content/admin/formula-gallery.htm

Calculates Au equivalent using ranked columns from the samples table. The constant 1.58 is an example placeholder for your own constant. Ranked columns are populated once the lab certificate is released.

```formula
{Au-DD_RankedCol, ppm (Activity-DD CoreLogging)}+1.58*
({Sb_RankedCol, ppm (Activity-DD CoreLogging)}/10000)
```

--------------------------------

### Finish Date Cannot Be Earlier Than Start

Source: https://help.seequent.com/MXDeposit/en-GB/Content/admin/validations/validations-gallery.htm

Validation rule for ensuring the end date is not earlier than the start date. Uses two date type inputs, EndDate and StartDate. The second block is the validation message that can be copied and used.

```plaintext
{EndDate}>{StartDate}
```

```plaintext
{EndDate.source} cannot be earlier than {StartDate.source}: {StartDate.value}
```

--------------------------------

### Sample Type Prompt Using the in Function

Source: https://help.seequent.com/MXDeposit/en-GB/Content/admin/formula-gallery.htm

Prompts the logger to insert a duplicate sample every 20th sample and a blank sample every 5th sample, based on the rightmost digits of the Sample Number. The prompt 'Insert FieldDup' appears when the rightmost 2 digits are 20, 40, 60, or 80; 'Insert Blank' appears when the rightmost digit is 0 or 5.

```formula
ifThen([in(right({Sample Number},2),'20','40','60','80'),'Insert FieldDup'],[in(right({Sample Number},1),'0','5'),'Insert Blank'])
```

--------------------------------

### previous(column.name) or previous(column.name, initial-value)

Source: https://help.seequent.com/MXDeposit/en-GB/Content/admin/catalogue.htm

References data from the previous row in a column, with an optional initial value for the first row.

```APIDOC
## previous(column.name) or previous(column.name, initial-value)
### Description
Use this function to reference data for a column from the previous row. You can also, optionally, specify the initial value that should be used when the function is applied to the first row, i.e there is no previous row value to obtain. If no initial value is provided, then 0 will be used instead.
### Syntax
`previous(column.name)` or `previous(column.name, initial-value)`
### Parameters
- **column.name** (string) - Required - The column from which to retrieve the previous row's value.
- **initial-value** (number) - Optional - The value to use for the first row when there is no previous row. Defaults to 0 if not provided.
### Remarks
- You cannot use the previous function for a column that is also used elsewhere in a function. For instance, the following function fails with a 'An argument of the function has an inappropriate type' error.
- To achieve the goal of referencing both the current and previous values for a column in the same function, you will need to create a new calculated column that contains the value of the previous row and reference that calculated column instead.
### Example
`previous(Azimuth) + 12.5` returns the previous row's Azimuth value plus 12.5, with 0 assumed for the first row.
```

--------------------------------

### Deviation in Azimuth Values using previous() and ifElse()

Source: https://help.seequent.com/MXDeposit/en-GB/Content/admin/formula-gallery.htm

Two-step workflow to flag excessive deviation in azimuth values. First create a calculated column using previous() to get the previous row's DH_Azimuth value, then use that new column in a formula that flags when the difference exceeds 10%. The previous function cannot be used on a column that is also used elsewhere in a function, as that causes an 'An argument of the function has an inappropriate type' error.

```formula
previous({DH_Azimuth},0)
```

```formula
ifElse(abs(({DH_Azimuth}-{PreviousDH_Azimuth})/{DH_Azimuth})>0.1,'Check Az','')
```

--------------------------------
