### Start the Enterprise Edition registration process

Source: https://www.eiffel.org/doc/eiffelstudio/FreeBSD

Commands to navigate to the installation directory and execute the registration program.

```bash
cd $ISE_EIFFEL ./register
```

--------------------------------

### Unix shell command to copy example files

Source: https://www.eiffel.org/doc/eiffelstudio/Copying_the_Example_Files

Copies all files from the EiffelStudio tour examples directory to YOURDIR. Replace $ISE_EIFFEL with the actual installation path if needed.

```shell
cp $ISE_EIFFEL/examples/studio/tour/* YOURDIR
```

--------------------------------

### OpenVMS command to copy example files

Source: https://www.eiffel.org/doc/eiffelstudio/Copying_the_Example_Files

Copies all files from the EiffelStudio tour examples directory to YOURDIR on OpenVMS.

```shell
copy $ISE_EIFFEL:[examples.studio.tour]*.* YOURDIR
```

--------------------------------

### Run setup procedure

Source: https://www.eiffel.org/doc/eiffelstudio/HP_OpenVMS

Run the setup procedure to define the environment for EiffelStudio, defining logical names and DCL symbols required to run Eiffel.

```DCL
@eiffel_installation_path:[000000]setup
```

### Profiler Configuration File example

Source: https://www.eiffel.org/doc/eiffelstudio/How_to_set_up_a_Profiler_Configuration_File

Complete example of a Profiler Configuration File for EiffelStudio. It specifies the column positions for index, function time, descendent time, number of calls, function name, percentage, and second percentage, plus whether leading underscores are generated. A value of 0 for any xxx_column option means the profiler's files contain no such column; comments start with -- and option order is not significant.

```plaintext
number_of_columns: 7 -- Number of columns in the file.
index_column: 1 -- Column where the index is stored.
function_time_column: 3 -- Column where the time spent in the function is stored.
descendent_time_column: 4 -- Column where the time spent in the descendents of a function is stored.
number_of_calls_column: 5 -- Column where the number of calls to a function is stored.
function_name_column: 6 -- Column where the name of the function is stored.
percentage_column: 2 -- Column where the percentage of time spent in the function is stored.
second_percentage_column: 0 -- Column where the second percentage of time spent in the function is stored.
generates_leading_underscore: no 	-- Says whether the profiler generates leading underscores (yes) or not (no).
```

### Register Enterprise Edition

Source: https://www.eiffel.org/doc/eiffelstudio/HP-UX

Commands to start the registration process for the Enterprise edition. Requires prior setup of environment variables.

```shell
cd $ISE_EIFFEL
./register
```

--------------------------------

### Install from web using backup and set file/attrib

Source: https://www.eiffel.org/doc/eiffelstudio/HP_OpenVMS

Commands to install the files into eiffel_installation_path on an ODS-5 volume. The first command sets file attributes, the second restores the save set using backup.

```DCL
set file/attrib=(org:seq,rfm:fix,lrl:9216) temp:[dir]eifXXvms.save
```

```DCL
backup temp:[dir]eifXXvms.save/save eiffel_installation_path
```

--------------------------------

### Install EiffelStudio using MacPorts

Source: https://www.eiffel.org/doc/eiffelstudio/Mac_OS_X

Installs EiffelStudio via MacPorts from a bash terminal. Requires MacPorts to be installed first.

```bash
sudo port install eiffelstudio
```

--------------------------------

### Check GTK+ version with gtk-config

Source: https://www.eiffel.org/doc/eiffelstudio/HP_OpenVMS

Run this command to verify GTK+ 1.2.10 or above is installed. The command should succeed and display the version number; if it is below 1.2.10, stop the installation and install GTK+ 1.2.10 first.

```DCL
gtk-config --version
```
